Popular Steampunk Weekend at Crich Tramway Village returns 7th & 8th September

Steampunk Weekend

Crich Tramway Village’s ever popular Steampunk weekend, in conjunction with Steampunks Always Welcome – Lincoln, is set to return for two amazing days on 7th and 8th September 2024!

Grab your goggles and dust off your cogs and gears as Victorian romanticism meets modern technology at this day out with a difference!

Enjoy family fun with fire eating displays, tea duelling, hula hoopers and more.

With a backdrop of the Victorian era alongside science fiction fun/fantasy technology and industrial steam-powered machinery of the 19th century, the event is open each day from 10am – 5pm.

Enjoy music on the bandstand from Daisy RootsBoothill Toe Tappers duo and Madame Misfit both days.

Entertainment for all the family throughout both days

There’s fun for all the family at the Flea Circus, and Sam the Scam bunko booth and of course, Tea Duelling! In addition, you can also join the Steampunk Adventurers Club (check the information boards on site on the day).

Exhibitors will also be selling Steampunk merchandise and memorabilia in the Exhibition Hall.

In addition, on Sunday FULL FATHOM FIVE, a Steampunk acapella group will perform traditional shanties with Steampunk flavoured lyrics. Lots of ancient songs with freshly hewn verse concerning tea, cake, zeppelins, biscuits, gin, jetpacks and more tea. Fab, Frivolous and Fun – strap yourselves in for a rollocking good time!

As usual, visitors will also be able to enjoy unlimited rides on the vintage trams each day, taking you out into the Derbyshire countryside offering breathtaking views of the surrounding Derwent Valley.

A great day for anyone interested in Steampunk, Victoriana, engineering and local history!

If you need a breather, stretch your legs on the Woodland Walk Sculpture Trail. Continue your day out at the village with a drink at the Red Lion Pub, a visit to the old-style sweet shop – Barnett’s, or refreshments in The Poulson Room. Menus for breakfast, lunch, children’s meals, gluten-free, and vegan options are available here.
