Let’s Create Art Crescent Crafts is one of many upcoming Buxton Crescent Experience events; a creative crafting session where you can let your imagination run wild!
Suitable for all ages and perfect for families, immerse yourself in a creative atmosphere as you explore various craft activities. Step into the elegance of the Georgian era with Paper & Portraits, celebrating the extravagant fashion of the 18th century.
Buxton Crescent Experience events presents – Let’s Create Paper and Portraits:
- View the iconic portrait of Georgiana, Duchess of Devonshire, alongside an incredible display of handcrafted paper wigs – recently showcased at The Children’s Country House at Sudbury, created by Handmade Theatre and students from the Theatre Design Department at Nottingham Trent University.
- Add to the Duchess’s Paper Dress – Contribute your own decorative flourishes to a growing collaborative artwork.
- Redesign a Georgian Dress – Create your own Georgian-inspired outfit for a Barbie Doll!
- Fashion for a Modern-Day Duchess – Design a stylish outfit fit for today’s aristocracy.
- Step into a Portrait – Dress up in the costumes and props to recreate your own grand Georgian portrait.

Buxton Crescent Experience – Tours during half-term
In nine intimate rooms at the Buxton Crescent Experience, this unique visitor experience tells the stories of Buxton, The Crescent, its famous water and the many people who came to seek its cure.
An all-weather boutique attraction, it offers a taste of the Buxton story, and provides an ideal starting point for anyone visiting or learning about the town.
Tours are available throughout February half term:
Self guided tours Adults (16 yrs +) £11.99, Young Person (8 – 15 yrs) £7.99, Child (0 – 7 yrs) FREE, Essential Companion FREE, Family Ticket (2 adults and up to 3 children) £33.
