Step back in time to 1940s Britain at Crich Tramway Village on 9th and 10th April, as their popular Homefront event transports to back to the bygone days of of WWII.
With live entertainment from Kev Mack, Jayne Darling, Marina Mae, Johnny Victory, Bluebird Belles, Sparky and Sprite and Putting on the Blitz, there’s a range of nostalgic events for all the family to enjoy at the Derbyshire visitor attraction.
Experience a real taste of life during the Second World War as the village is transformed with historic wartime and military vehicles on show, amongst the vintage trams from the 1940s period; visitors will able to ride the trams as much as they wish during their visit. A Spitfire will be on display and civilian and military exhibits will be on hand as well as a range of vintage stalls.
For those daring enough to face Sergeant Major Marmite, a children’s boot camp/drill will be available. Additionally, visitors can hear rallying speeches from our ‘Winston Churchill’ and have the opportunity to meet and mingle with re-enactors.
During the afternoon, Swing Cats will provide lively music for visitors to dance along to.
Group displays will be held on the Woodland Walk for all to enjoy.
Children can even create their own gas mask boxes in the marquee. Don’t miss out on this unique opportunity to experience the sights and sounds of 1940s Britain!
The Red Lion public house will be serving drinks as usual including cask ales.
Visitors are encouraged to dress for the occasion. Dress in 1940s clothes and receive a reduced admission charge.

Ticket bookings
To purchase tickets for Memories of the 1940s event, General Admission tickets are required: £22 for adults, £19.50 for seniors (aged 60+), £14 for children (aged 4 – 15 years) and family tickets (2 adults, 3 children) £49.50.
