The Chakra Lounge – an explosion of colour and exotic aromas

If you haven’t already noticed the explosion of colour and exotic aromas halfway along Spring Gardens in Buxton, then you may have missed the fact that the town’s first ever lounge cafe has opened. The Chakra Lounge heralds something new in the town centre. So what’s it all about?

The Chakra Lounge

The café began as an idea to blend exotic flavours of Eastern culture with more well-known dishes from the West. The team were also keen to provide a place with a relaxed atmos; somewhere you can go to chill out and meet up with friends. There’s a selection of board games and a book exchange so you can really make yourself at home. The sentiments may seem simple but mixed together, they break new ground for Buxton.

The Chakra Lounge

As you would expect for a modern pit stop, The Chakra promotes healthy eating and the menu provides a serious list of options making dining both delicious but simple. It’s now common to see cafes and restaurants to serve gluten free, vegan and veggie dishes but there’s an abundance of these dishes right across the menu here, we counted ten GF dishes. Your stomach is going to as happy as your taste buds…

There’s a big focus on local produce too. They serve Peak Bean coffee roasted right here in the Peak District (Furness Vale); a full bodied strong coffee that should delight any coffee connoisseur. You can buy Chakra Expresso Blend if you want more for home.

And wait for this bombshell: They serve breakfast all day! Something that seems a rare find in town.  The breakfast options are aplenty including Breakfast wrap, India Teacake, Punjabi Toast and of course that all important full breakfast with an Indian twist (£6.50).

The cafe itself has a warm and friendly vibe that fills you with energy. The vibrant decor and striking wall art surely make for an Instagrammers hot-spot?

If you’re looking for somewhere to take the family – children’s portions are available from all dishes on the menu and dogs are welcome too.

Led by a highly passionate team and the combined experience of over 30 years in the hospitality industry, their mission is one to to serve the community with love, compassion and tasty feel-good food.
