Freshly made to order, serving authentic 12” wood fired, stone baked, hand rolled, thin crust pizzas and home made cakes and sides. Using fresh and local ingredients, even the wood is local! A wide variety of topping are available.

Inspired by an episode of River Cottage back in 2007 where they built a small clay wood fired oven, The Cavendish Kitchen team tried it for themselves, it worked a treat and the food that came out of it was delicious.  Guests said she should open as a takeaway.  It took a while but they got there in the end, thanks Hugh Fearnley Whittingstall!

A family run business, The Cavendish Kitchen is possibly the smallest Pizzeria ever and strangely shaped like a slice.

Located opposite the Devonshire Dome in Buxton, just seconds from Buxton Opera House, Pavilion Gardens and the beautiful Crescent building.

Serving authentic 12” wood fired, stone baked, hand rolled, thin crust pizzas and home made cakes and sides. Using fresh and local ingredients, even the wood is local!

The menu includes the classics such as Margherita, Pepperoni, Ham & Mushroom/Pineapple, but also some fresh, modern options such as our popular vegetarian Spinach, Roasted Red Peppers & Goat’s cheese pizza.

Or create your own tasty pizza using our extras. You can even have it cooked to your taste; charred, crispy, medium? It’s your pizza so you have it exactly how you want it!

Lunches and Pizza Picnics: During warmer weather The Cavendish Kitchen will be offering lunches and Pizza Picnics where you can enjoy eating out in the sunshine in say the Pavilion Gardens or The Slopes – keep an eye on social media for updates.

They offer an ever changing selection of homemade cakes, all made with duck eggs, real butter and double cream, this can include Cadbury’s Chunk Brownies, Chocolate Orange Brownies, Raspberry & Cream Poofs, Soft Caramel and Dark Chocolate Cheesecakes, Mandarin & Chocolate Orange Cheesecakes.

Their homemade Pear & Beetroot coleslaw goes down a treat with a thin crust Pizza!

Don’t forget to ask for add ons for the children, the Fairies deliver edible (tasteless) rice paper butterflies, dinosaurs and glitter.  Other than these decorations, none of the food they make has any additives, colourants, mould inhibitors, dough improvers etc. Everything is homemade apart from the cheese (they’re working on that one) and the Charcuterie.

Dough is made by hand, using just five ingredients – flour, yeast, salt, olive oil and spring water fetched from St Annes Well around the corner fresh everyday – well it’d be rude not to!  Dough is left to work its magic for a 48 hour slow ferment, this improves the flavour and makes their thin crust bases very tasty.  Pizza is then cooked in their wood fired, stone base, 420+ degree hand built clay oven which allows cooking time on average for a pizza in just 2 minutes.

The Cavendish Kitchen have the same oven on a small trailer so parties and groups can be catered for with their mobile Wood Fired Pizza Oven which they take to the Chatsworth Estate, Hartington and Bakewell every week as well as private functions during warmer summer months offering the same tasty pizzas.
