There’s nothing like putting on your winter warmies, standing round a big hot bonfire and watching fireworks magically light up the sky and there’s plenty of events across the Peak District and Derbyshire to choose from. Here’s our round up of the best Derbyshire and Peak District Bonfire Night Events happening…

And remember, take care if you’re using fireworks at home, never return to a firework that hasn’t gone off and keep pets indoors if you can around this time, but most of all…enjoy ūüôā

1. FIREWORKS AT CONKERS

Where: Conkers, Rawdon Road (B586), Moira, Nr Ashby-de-la-Zouch, Derbyshire DE12 6GA

Come and watch one of the largest firework shows in the Midlands. ¬†¬†Along with the fireworks there’s a great line up of additional activities: a laser show, fairground amusements, face painting, balloon modelling, a¬†tombola and craft activities for children. All of the traditional activities to make a great night out for the family. Street food stalls, cafes and licensed bars will be open through out the evening serving your food and drink favourites.

2. CHATSWORTH ANNUAL BONFIRE & FIREWORKS DISPLAY

Bonfire Night Events Peak District Derbyshire

When: 2nd & 3rd November 2018, 6pm onwards

Where: Chatsworth, Bakewell, Derbyshire, DE45 1PE

With a blazing bonfire and two glittering firework displays, including an early display for little ones set to music from popular children’s films, there’s exhilarating entertainment for visitors of all ages.

Wrap up warm and join us for live music, dancing, circus performers and face painting Рmake your bonfire night go with a bang.

Keep warm with a range of delicious food from hog roasts to jacket potatoes, from churros to sweet treats. Why not enjoy a glass of mulled wine or cider for the ultimate winter warmer?

Dinner with bonfire and fireworks: This year, they are offering a combined ticket of dinner with bonfire and fireworks: 2nd November, is SOLD OUT, 3rd November tickets still available. Enjoy a delicious two-course meal of a main course and dessert with a welcome glass of prosecco in the Cavendish restaurant, followed by entry to the bonfire and fireworks event.Tickets cost £40 for this combination.

3. ASHBOURNE RECREATION GROUND

Where: Ashbourne Recreation Ground, Ashbourne, Derbyshire

Join Ashbourne Recreation Ground once again as Ashbourne Town Council put on a fun filled extravaganza of fireworks and it’s free entry!

When: 2nd November 2018, from 7.30pm

4. MUSIC AND FIREWORKS AT THE DEVIL’S ARSE

Bonfire Night Events Peak District Derbyshire

Where: Peak Cavern, Peak Cavern Rd, Hope Valley S33 8WS

Their annual Music & Fireworks spectacular is here with music from LS Duo, featuring Lewis Nitikman, Shaun McLoughlin and special guest Ian West on drums, (starting at 7pm). Culminating with a thunderous firework display outside in Peak Cavern Gorge from 8.45pm. A bar and refreshments will be available.

 When: 3rd November 2018, from 6.30pm

Entry / Cost: Tickets are available on their website and are priced at £12 for adults, £11 for concessions and £10 for children (11-15 yrs).

5. FIREWORKS EXTRAVAGANZA IN CHESTERFIELD

Where: Stand Road Park, Chesterfield

A fantastic celebratory event for local residents, the Chesterfield Fireworks Extravaganza takes place again this year.

The annual firework event organised by Chesterfield Borough Council commemorates 100 years since the end of World War One include the lighting of a bonfire, a short act of remembrance including standard bearers and playing of the last post to commemorate the centenary of the end of the First World War.

More details will be published nearer the time.

When: 4th November 2018, from 4pm.

6. TUTBURY CASTLE VIKINGS AND FIREWORK SPECTACULAR!

Where: Tutbury Castle, Castle St, Burton upon Trent, Tutbury, Staffordshire, DE13 9JF

Although not strictly in Derbyshire, Tutbury Castle is right on the border and many of us from Derbyshire head down to this popular attraction during the year.¬†Voted as one of the best firework displays in the UK, Tutbury Castle is opening its doors again for two nights of fireworks. By popular demand, the Vikings will be back with a great moonlit battle, followed by a Viking ‚Äėfuneral‚Äô. This terrifying group always attracts large numbers and there will be a living history camp and lots to see and do for the whole family. There will be entertainment throughout the evening, the pretty tearoom will be open for hot and cold refreshments along with the bar and BBQ (all reasonably priced!)

When: 3rd & 4th November 2018, gates open at 5.30pm, entertainment throughout the evening, fireworks approximately 8pm.

Entry / Cost: £8.50 adults, £7.50 children, under 12 and concessions, under 5s free of charge

Tickets can be brought through the website or by calling the office on 01283 812 129. Customers who buy tickets online will receive a Paypal confirmation which does act as an official Tutbury Castle ticket. We ask that you print this off and bring it with you on the evening. This confirmation contains a unique ID number which will allow entry, without this you may be refused entry.

7. MATLOCK RFC BONFIRE DISPLAY

Where:  Matlock RFC, Cromford Meadows, Matlock

On Saturday 3rd November 2018 Matlock RFC will be holding a giant Bonfire & Firework extravaganza!

In partnership with Electrify Pyrotechnics this will be an event not to miss, with a children’s firework display and then an awe-inspiring musical firework & lightshow display like you have never seen before!

8. GLOSSOP ROUNDTABLE BONFIRE & FIREWORK DISPLAY

Where: The Commercial, 137 Manor Park Road, Glossop SK13 7SH

The Commercial in Glossop is holding a Bonfire Night Party on Saturday 3rd November from 8.30pm. All are welcome.

9. BUXTON AND DISTRICT LIONS CLUB ANNUAL FIREWORKS DISPLAY & HOG ROAST

Where: Buxton Cricket Ground, Park Road

Its one of the High Peak’s biggest displays and this year will be no exception.

This display is great if you fancy drinks after¬†as you’re only a few minutes from a number of bars in town.

Hog roast, burgers, mulled wine, soft drinks etc. Vendors selling candy floss, light sticks etc. too.

When: Saturday 3rd November 2018, 6pm site opens, 6.30pm fire lit, fireworks to follow.

Entry / Cost: Tickets are £8 per person, under 15s go FREE. Advance ticket can be purchased from Buxton Opera House online at buxtonoperahouse.org.uk/event/the-buxton-lions-firework-display-hog-roast Pre-booked tickets must be posted or collected from the Buxton Opera House Box Office.  Buxton Opera House ticket sales will close at 3pm on the day. After this time, tickets must be purchased on the gate at Buxton Cricket Ground.

10. EYAM BONFIRE

Where: Eyam / Eyam Village Square

Entertainment starts in the village square from 5.30pm. At 6.15pm, The torch-lit procession with the infamous RAT leaves leaves The Square and it is carried through the village to the playing fields accompanied by chants of ‚ÄėBurn the Rat

The RAT is laid upon the spectacular bonfire which, once well ablaze, is followed by a fabulous firework display.

Delicious food and drinks are on offer including locally produced farmhouse sausage hotdogs, jacket potatoes with chilli or beans, home-made soup & bread, delicious mulled wine, locally brewed beer, hot drinks, parkin and of course bonfire toffee.

All funds raised go to Eyam School PTFA and local community projects so please do come along to support us and join in the fun!‚Äé
