Opening times: 12 noon – 10pm Monday – Thursday and Friday and Saturday 12 noon – 11pm, Sunday 12pm – 9pm.
Reopened in November 2024, The New Inn Buxton has been transformed by Emma and Matt Blackwood, who also manage The Old Sun Inn. Known for their successful ventures at 53 Degrees North and The Duke in Burbage, the couple has given the Grade II listed Georgian building a fresh, upmarket twist while respecting its historic charm.
Prime Location: Situated on Buxton Market Place, it’s the perfect spot for pre- or post-theatre drinks or enjoying a pint of cask ale paired with delicious food.
Warm and Inviting: The recent refurbishment includes cozy seating, an open fire, and a snug room tucked behind the bar.
Local and Independent Offerings at the Bar: Owning the freehold allows the owners to support local producers. The bar serves lots of changing regional ales such as Bradfield Brewery, Thornbridge, and Wincle Beer Co, along with local spirits from Derbyshire’s Blue John Gin. The pub is very proud to have been awarded CAMRA pub of the season (Autumn 2025).
Small Plates and Homemade Pub Favourites: The menu focuses on small plates, sandwiches, and pub classics such as Jaipur battered fish & chips, as well as an ever changing Specials Board. Homemade bar snacks include sausage rolls and scotch eggs, as well as pork pies from Mycocks Butcher. The pub menu is available daily until 8pm weekdays, 5pm Saturdays and 4pm Sundays. Theme nights include Wing Wednesdays and Curry Club on Thursdays. Sunday Roasts served every week between 12 – 4pm.
Dog Friendly Atmosphere: This dog friendly pub means four-legged friends are welcome, and muddy boots are no problem, making it a great spot for walkers and dog owners alike.
Gift Vouchers: Who doesn’t want a night out as gift? New Inn gift vouchers are available to purchase at the bar.
