Suitable for beginners, enjoy yoga in your own home online! These classes are designed for the beginner, but with room to improve and work hard too. You’ll stretch as well as strengthen, and leave the class feeling relaxed.
Highly experienced and trained Yoga instructor Sue Cox will focus on breath work for the first part of the class, to help us open up and strengthen the lungs and diaphragm, which is really important in these present times.
The class ends in relaxation where Sue will talk you through a guided meditation. After the initial chat at the start, she will mute you all so you don’t need to worry about what is going on around you at home. (Sue say’s it’s often quite comical for her seeing pets and children trying to get involved!).
All you need is a device with a webcam so Sue can see you. Ideally you need a yoga mat too so you don’t slip or hurt any bony bits that are in contact with the floor. If you want advice on yoga equipment, please get in touch with Sue as she can offer a 10% discount to class participants at an online shop. Otherwise grab a cushion, a throw and perhaps a book equal to the size of Harry Potter 5 and you’re all set.
Your instructor Sue completed her 200 hour Yoga teacher training as accredited with the Yoga Alliance UK in 2019 and already teaches the dance fitness class Clubbercise in Buxton. The Yoga classes are mainly Hatha based with a hint of Vinyasa, which means there’s a focus on the yoga postures themselves and how to do them effectively, as well as some flow work, meaning that we flow from pose to pose. Sue will aim mostly at the beginner, or those that have tried and perhaps been scared off in the past, or those that simply want to add another class to their practice.
