What’s the line-up for Eat in the Park 2025?

This year, Eat in the Park turns five years old! The organisers have clearly picked out some of the best acts from the last five festivals for the 2025 line-up.

We take a look back at the last five years and remember some of the highlights – some of which are back for this year, yay!

Eat in the Park 2021

At the first EITP in 2021, Kazabian head lined on the Saturday evening, to a roaring crowd; thrilled to be parting again after being in and out of lockdown, they smashed it and they sounded amazing. It was a rainy one that year but no one cared, festival outfits were well and truly out of the window; wellies on and mud splashed jeans, everyone danced off the last 18 months of being stuck at home and all the other cr*p the pandemic bought with it.

The highlight for us in the local bands tents was Sweetchin Music on the Saturday afternoon – and because it was throwing it down, everyone sheltered in there and the atmosphere was electric (they play at the Queens Head regularly and Kenny Robertson on guitar gives Jimi Hendrix a run for his money).

Sunday began with a more chilled vibe and Elite Elton – The Elton John Experience went down a storm; Oasish soon upped the tempo as the festival drew to a close, they sounded amazing, so it’s great to see them back for ’25.

Eat in the Park 2022

When Eat in the Park said they were doing it all over again in 2022, we wondered, would it be as good at the first one? Of course it was, and more. There was three different music stages this year; the main stage, the Buxton Brewery tent and brand new for 2022; the dance tent. Again with an array of food vendors all mainly located on the daisy lawn in the Pav G. Homegrown superheroes like The A’UPS and Purple Cloud of Funk were back. ABBA by REVIVAL on the Saturday teatime were a brilliant tribute to the 70s supergroup. Headliners on the Sunday evening Queen tribute band Killer Queen were clearly seasoned crowd rockers and brought the whole festival to a rousing crescendo.

Eat in the Park 2023

2022’s iteration was kissed by a spell of rare sunshine and saw the event go from strength to strength. All the organisers had to do in 2023 was repeat the recipe and keep their fingers crossed for half-decent weather; alas, the sunshine was delivered and once again 5000 revellers each day flocked to Eat in the Park with a sell-out event. Cheap Shades proved to be a huge hit in the local bands tent and on the Sunday Vicky Jackson nailed it with her Pink tribute. It almost goes without saying that The Bootleg Beatles offered a throughly seasoned headline on Sunday evening, a stone’s throw from where the original Beatles provoked hysterics in the 60s.

Eat in the Park 2024

And so to year four. Proving once again why it has become a staple event in Buxton’s calendar, the event was once again a sell-out. Dubbed the ‘UK’s tastiest tribute festival,’ EITP has earned a reputation for delivering award-winning tribute acts (as well as an array of great food vendors, and family-friendly fun) and 2024 was no exception.

Last year’s event once again demonstrated why smaller festivals like this one are becoming increasingly popular, and EITP stands out, particularly for its accessibility. The Pavilion Gardens, with its flat terrain and easy navigation makes this micro-festival a welcoming space for everyone, for all ages.

The music lineup did not disappoint. Saturday kicked off with Cheap Shades, whose return from 2023’s local band tent performance was met with lots of enthusiasm. The EITP (Dance) Tent was back in full swing, serving up every kind of repetitive beat and dance music genre you could imagine. Manchester Ska Foundation did what they do best.

The festival’s finale, featuring Rule the World + Dann Budd as Robbie Williams, was an absolute showstopper. Dann Budd’s Robbie was almost indistinguishable from the real thing, and the ‘Gary Barlow’ of the gang was, well, very Gary Barlow, the facial expressions, voice and all! They sounded very convincing, and more importantly the crowd absolutely loved it. It’s great to see they’re also back for 2025!

On both days at the festival, the Kids Zone is packed with activities throughout the afternoon. The area is tucked away just beyond the daisy lawn so grown-ups could still tap their feet to nearby music but it’s not overbearing. Eat in the Park is well and truly a family festival with something for everyone.

Eat in the Park Music & Food Festival Shortlisted for Prestigious Tourism Award

Eat in the Park Music & Food Festival, a cornerstone event of Buxton, has been shortlisted for the 2024/25 Peak District, Derbyshire & Derby Tourism Awards. This nomination underscores its significance as the event heads into its 5th year next year.

Founded in 2021 by childhood friends George Derbyshire and Jake Burnham, initially in response to the global pandemic, the festival was designed to give people something to look forward to. Intending to uplift spirits and support local businesses after a challenging year, the event quickly blossomed into one of the most anticipated gatherings in the region, drawing an impressive crowd of 10,000 people over two days each August.

Dubbed the ‘UK’s tastiest tribute festival,’ Eat in the Park showcases a dynamic lineup of award-winning tribute acts and favourite local bands each year as well as raft of family activities.

Held in the scenic Pavilion Gardens, the festival is a vibrant tapestry of sounds and tastes, featuring a Main Stage, the Buxton Brewery Local Bands Tent, a Dance tent and a family-friendly Kids Zone. Additionally there’s a wide array of international food vendors and street food stalls, offering a gastronomic journey alongside musical entertainment.

The organisers expressed their gratitude for the nomination: “Being nominated for ‘Festival and Event of the Year’ is an incredible honour, and we couldn’t have done it without our amazing community of music and food loving festival-goers, artists and suppliers! Now, we need your support to bring this award home!”

Winner of Peak District, Derbyshire & Derby Tourism Awards Festival of the Year will be announced announced at a joint Derbyshire-Nottinghamshire awards ceremony at the East Midlands Conference Centre, Nottingham on 20th March 2025. Click here for more details.

Don’t forget to mark your calendars for the next Eat in the Park Music & Food Festival, scheduled for August 16th and 17th, 2025. Stay tuned for the exciting lineup and further details, promising another unforgettable experience.

Explore Buxton’s Review of Eat in the Park 2024: ★★★★★ Music & Food Festival delivers another unforgettable weekend

Eat in the Park Music & Food Festival returned to the Pavilion Gardens for its fourth year on August 17th and 18th 2024, proving once again why it has become a staple event in Buxton’s calendar. Dubbed the ‘UK’s tastiest tribute festival,’ EITP has earned a reputation for delivering award-winning tribute acts, an array of international food vendors, and family-friendly fun, all set in the heart of the town’s famous park.

Since its inception in 2021, EITP has grown in popularity, with this year’s Saturday tickets selling out completely and just a few remaining for Sunday, it was clear that EITP ’24 was in high demand – and for good reason. This year’s event once again demonstrated why smaller festivals like this one are becoming increasingly popular, and EITP stands out, particularly for its accessibility. The Pavilion Gardens, with its flat terrain and easy navigation makes this micro-festival a welcoming space for everyone, for all ages.

This year’s layout remained largely the same, with the Main Stage, Buxton Brewery Tent, and EITP Dance Tent providing the primary music venues. Meanwhile, there was a great selection of food and drink stalls with what felt like even more choice than in previous years, and plenty of gluten free offerings. With everything from Indian and Thai to Jamaican Jerk Chicken, freshly made burgers, Greek, and more, ensuring that no one went hungry. If you love loaded fries, you would have been in the right place as a lot of stalls seemed to be doing them. Perhaps not doing your diet many favours but it was all about having a good time so who cares?

The music lineup did not disappoint! Saturday kicked off with Cheap Shades, whose return from last year’s Buxton Brewery Tent performance was met with lots of enthusiasm. Red Hot Chili Peppers UK played their well known hits. Over in the local music tent, Radio Memphis swept us away with a nostalgic wave of vintage southern rock and soul. Local faves The A’ups ramped up the tempo in the afternoon with their signature pop/rock mash-ups, getting everyone on their feet and Young Elton was clearly a big crowd pleaser, closing out Saturday’s Main Stage with a captivating performance.

The EITP (Dance) Tent was back in full swing, serving up every kind of repetitive beat and dance music genre you could imagine. With local legends Soundboy, Mez and others at the helm playing house, Hacienda and rave classics, drum and bass, jungle, Northern Soul, and more. The addition of a small bar in the dance tent was a nice touch, saving festival-goers a trip back to the main site. The hardcore classics were especially fun to dance to, although, truth be told, we had to take regular breaks because at our age, it felt more like a boot camp workout than a rave!

One of the highlights of EITP 2024 was the abundance of bars across the site, minimising queue times – a major win for thirsty festival-goers. The main stage area did have some congestion with chairs, despite the introduction of a ‘chair-free zone,’ which could perhaps be expanded next year.

Sunday saw the Manchester Ska Foundation reinvigorate the crowd, with Purple Cloud of Funk at tea time delivering an unforgettable set that included a surprise choir performance of The Verve’s Bittersweet Symphony which brought the house down. The band really engaged with the audience too – a perfect end to what’s been another great EITP. See you next year!
