Clap for our carers – thank our NHS heroes with nationwide applause

Clap for our carers

People in the UK are being encouraged to take part in a huge round of applause to show their appreciation for the incredible NHS staff working round the clock in the UK, under the huge pressures of the current Coronavirus health crisis.

Just like us, they share the same fears, uncertainties and anxieties that all of us do. They have children at home to care for, vulnerable parents and relatives to consider, underlying health conditions to protect. Let’s say thank you!

The Clap for our Carers national campaign is asking for as many people as possible to clap their hands together on Thursday 26th March at 8pm to thank all doctors, nurses, carers, GPs, pharmacists and other NHS staff working hard to help those affected by the coronavirus.

People can clap from their gardens, front doors, and balconies to show their support, making sure to keep a safe distance from other people.

The message has already been widely shared on social media, with hundreds of thousands expected to take part across the UK.

Everyone is being encouraged to live stream their participation on 26th March on social media channels – such as Facebook live, so get involved and share your posts with us on our @explorebuxton Facebook page.

Similar events have been happening in Spain, France and the Netherlands and Italians and the Spanish have also been singing from their balconies and playing musical instruments in order to lift the spirits of not only their families, but their neighbours during the pandemic.
