The original Explore Buxton report in January 2026 said the theatre had been nominated in two categories: Customer Excellence of the Year and Local Family Attraction of the Year.

Derby LIVE won Customer Excellence of the Year, and Hero Town won Local Family Attraction of the Year. The Opera House reported its runner-up award on 20 May 2026.

In its announcement, the theatre recognised its front-of-house team and said it was supported by more than 130 local volunteers. The awards celebrate family-focused businesses, attractions and services in Derbyshire.
