With exciting new events, returning favourites, and hands-on fun for all ages, there’s something for everyone this August.

Highlights Tour 

Join one of the cavern custodians on their all new Highlights Tour. With special lighting, this 35 minute tour will show off some of Poole’s Cavern’s best bits. You can then self-guide yourself along the return route.

  • The cavern will be illuminated with atmospheric coloured lighting, transforming this ancient space into something truly spectacular.

Get creative with nature-themed crafts your little ones can take home. Suitable for children aged 4 and up, these fun sessions are perfect for curious hands and imaginative minds.


⛰️ Explore the Cavern: A Journey Beneath the Earth

Discover the ancient wonders of Poole’s Cavern on a guided tour led by enthusiastic, knowledgeable guides. Journey through illuminated chambers, marvel at dramatic rock formations, and see the fascinating Poached Egg stalagmites glow under UV light.

Explore the vast limestone caverns and see how crystal Stalactites and Stalagmites have lined the chambers over millions of years.

  • Regular guided tours daily

  • SEN and self-guided tours available

  • Wheelchair accessible (main chamber)

Enhance your visit by:

  • Walking the trails in Buxton Country Park

  • Climbing to Grin Low viewpoint for panoramic views

  • Spotting wooden sculptures along the woodland trails (trail maps available at the Visitor Centre)
