Opening Times:

Ice Cream parlour Monday – Sunday 10am – 4pm.

The Ice Cream Parlour take away service is currently offering hot drinks, cold drinks, cakes, hot takeaway food, ice cream and snacks.

Coronavirus outbreak: With the easing of lockdown measures and new government advice, Pavilion Gardens are currently offering a takeaway service only from the Ice Cream Parlour window Monday – Sunday 10am – 4pm.

The main building will remain closed at this time, the Car Park remains open and the toilets in the Car Park are also now open. Social distancing measures are in place.

Ice Cream Parlour

Monday – Sunday 10am – 4pm

Lakeside Hut:

Opens at 10.30am – 2.30pm during weekends and school holidays.

Coffee Van:

Opens at 9.30am – 2.30pm during weekends and school holidays

Miniature Train:

Opens 10.30am during weekends and school holidays, closing at 2.30pm

Boating Lake:

Opens 10.30am on Saturday and 12.30pm Sunday, last entry at 3pm: Please note the Boating Lake will re-open in Spring 2020.

Due to weather conditions and unforeseen circumstances, there may be occasions where management deem it necessary to differentiate from the times given above. We will give as much notice as possible.


Dating back to 1871, nestled in 23 acres of gardens with water features, lakes and miniature railway.

Pavilion Cafe and Coffee Bar offer light snacks, full menu, hot and cold drinks and ice-cream.

Gallery in the Gardens (located in the Gift Boutique) showcases 40 local artist’s works and members of High Peak Artists group.

Boating Lake has rowing boats and pedalos – £10 for 30 minutes or £14 for 45 minutes per boat. The boats will re-open in Spring 2020. Boats take up to 4 people and will be available 10.30am Monday – Saturday with last admission at 4pm, and from 12.30pm on Sundays, with last admission at 4pm.

Tourist Information is now available at the Buxton Visitor Centre in the The Pump Room, near The Crescent, where knowledgable staff can offer local tourist information about Buxton, the High Peak and Peak District area.

There is a year round programme of events of markets, fairs and children’s activities as well as special events during Easter, summer and at Christmas.

Parking is available on site at the 270 space parking bay located on the corner of St. John’s Road and Burlington Road. Please note that the under section of the car park closes and is locked between the hours of 6:00pm and 8:00am. Cars wishing to be released after 6pm and before 8am will incur a charge. There are eight disabled car parking bays on the ground level of the car park.

Coach parking: Pavilion Gardens allows coaches to drop their passengers off on the Promenade by prior arrangement. Coach parking is available on Burlington Road (SK17 9AY). Coaches can also park on the Promenade provided that they have arranged this prior to visiting. Additionally the Sylvan Coach park is situated off the roundabout at the intersection of the A6/A53.
