Halloween at Poole’s Cavern: An Evening of Feasting and Folklore!

Halloween at Poole's Cavern

It’s nearly time for the spookiest time of year and where better to celebrate All Hallows Eve than Poole’s Cavern? If you don’t already know, Poole’s Cavern is Buxton’s undisputed no.1 tourist attraction, offering a journey underground into stunning limestone formations and the town’s equally eccentric history. The great thing about the cave is they don’t rest on their laurels with the standard cave tour but stage unique events all year round too.

Halloween 2024 is no exception! Following the hugely successful ‘Creepy Cavern Halloween Tours’ in 2023, this year they’ve stepped things up with an Evening of Feasting and Folklore which includes a tasty feast in the Café in the Cavern with spooky retellings of local folklore, mysteries and legends!

On 30th & 31st October, journey back in time to the early 1900s and experience a hauntingly delightful evening.

Enjoy a spooky pre-ordered two-course meal at Cafe at the Cavern, indulging in seasonal specials. After dinner, browse the curious collection of Mr Redfern and be enticed by a local cave guide to explore Poole’s Hole under lantern light, hearing of local legends, folklore and mystery.

When booking, please select your choice of home-made soup (Spicy Butternut Squash) or Witch’s Broth (Meaty Stew), pumpkin pie or homemade cake for dessert, upon booking. A range of hot, cold, alcoholic and alcoholic drinks will be available to purchase on the night.

Then descend into Poole’s Cavern to learn of local headhunters, cursed skulls, gruesome murders and legends dating back to when giants roamed the earth.
