Unleash Your Creativity

At Buxton Pottery Painting, you can choose from a vast range of pottery items to paint, including:

  • Hanging decorations
  • Pots, plates, mugs
  • Vases and lanterns
  • Cute animal figurines
  • And even magical unicorns

Using non-toxic, water-based paints, you can let your imagination run wild while creating a truly unique piece to take home. All tools and materials are provided, so you just need to bring your creativity!

A Family-Friendly Studio

With a focus on being family friendly, paints are nontoxic and water-based and therefore specifically formulated to be child-friendly, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone. There’s low chairs and tables as well as a baby play pen (for non-walkers) so that mums can be on hand for other little ones or to enjoy their own painting experience hands free, so whole family can enjoy the fun.

How It Works

1. Book Your Session

While they do offer walk-ins, it’s highly recommended to book in advance to guarantee your spot.

2. Pick Your Pottery Piece

Browse the variety of pottery options and select the perfect piece to paint.

3. Paint Away!

Use the colour wheel on the wall to see how the paints will look once glazed and fired.

4. Leave Your Masterpiece to Be Fired

Once you’ve finished painting, leave your pottery with the team to be glazed and fired in their on-site kiln. They’ll contact you when your piece is ready for collection – usually within 5-7 days.

Relax with Coffee and Cake

Why not enjoy a delicious treat while you paint? They serve a range of freshly brewed coffee from Buxton Coffee Roasters, alongside a selection of teas and an ever-changing range of delicious homemade cakes. It’s the perfect way to unwind and make your creative session even more enjoyable.

Accessibility

Buxton Pottery Painting ensures that everyone can enjoy a visit. The studio is wheelchair and pram accessible, with a lift providing easy access to the space

Available to Hire: Celebrate Special Occasions

Looking for a unique venue for a birthday party, family gathering, or group event? Buxton Pottery Painting offers private hire, catering for all ages and abilities. Whether you’re celebrating a little one’s birthday, a team-building event, or just a fun get-together, the studio provides an inspiring setting for memorable occasions.

A Historic Setting

Buxton Pottery Painting is located in the Cavendish Arcade, a Grade II listed building that was once home to Buxton Baths. In 1987, it was transformed into a shopping arcade, featuring an impressive stained-glass ceiling designed by renowned artist Brian Clarke. The building’s rich history and stunning architecture add to the charm of this creative haven.
