Buxton Crescent’s Heritage Trust announce four year sponsorship with Nestlé Waters UK

The Crescent & Pump Room

Nestlé Waters UK announced as a new partner for Buxton Crescent’s Heritage Trust and innovative visitor experience coming in 2019

Buxton Crescent Heritage Trust were thrilled to announce a major new partnership agreement with Nestlé Waters UK at a reception this week in the Crescent’s famous Pump Room. The 4 years sponsorship will see Nestlé Waters UK, producers of Buxton Natural Mineral Water, and the Trust work together on the development of the innovative visitor experience, due to open in the Crescent in 2019.

From rainfall to bottle, Buxton Natural Mineral Water takes around 5,000 years, filtering through the Peak District and deep layers of Derbyshire limestone, before naturally resurfacing at the artesian spring in the centre of Buxton, St Ann’s Well. Buxton’s water has been celebrated and enjoyed for centuries by the Romans and Victorians before us, and is a central part of the town and The Crescent Spa Hotel’s history and heritage.

The Trust are developing exciting plans for an interactive, hands on Visitor Experience that residents, national and international visitors can enjoy discovering and learning more about Buxton. The Trust will be working closely with Nestlé Waters to ensure the town’s water is celebrated and the experience will tell the story of the water’s role in shaping Buxton and its spa heritage that is steeped in history thanks to the beautiful, natural landscape, which still attracts so many visitors today.

James Berresford, Chair of the Buxton Crescent Heritage Trust commented, “Nestlé Waters’ support for the Trust’s community aims will help us achieve our aspirations for this project. Thanks to their investment and support from the Heritage Lottery Fund, Derbyshire County Council, High Peak Borough Council, D2N2, plus an exciting partnership with the University of Derby, the innovative Visitor Experience will soon be open for all to enjoy and experience”.

Michel Beneventi Managing Director of Nestlé Waters UK added, “Buxton Water is one of the most special, natural thermal mineral waters in the world that is enjoyed by consumers across Britain. Working with the Trust, we are delighted to be a part of this project and help the Trust deliver something special for local residents and visitor to enjoy.  We are excited to help tell the story of this fantastic water and the work we are doing to care for and protect the landscape, during this pivotal time for the town and Crescent Trust. ”

“The sponsorship agreement will also deliver water inspired events in the Pump Room and stunning Crescent Assembly Room and other benefits for the community”.
