Located within the iconic Crescent in the heart of Buxton, Jarva Gallery is an independent, artist-founded art gallery in Buxton built on over 30 years of experience in the art world.
The gallery presents a carefully curated collection of original paintings, sculpture, ceramics and designer jewellery through Jarva Jewels – all selected for their quality, craftsmanship and distinct artistic voice.
With a focus on work that feels individual rather than commercial, Jarva offers a considered alternative to the traditional gallery or high street jeweller. The space itself is calm, welcoming and designed to allow visitors to engage with the work in a relaxed and personal way.

Jarva Jewels
Each piece is selected for its craftsmanship, originality and artistic integrity, with a focus on jewellery that sits outside the mainstream. The collection includes sterling silver and 18ct gold-vermeil pieces, often incorporating natural stones, chosen for their character and individuality.
We also represent several jewellery designers on an exclusive basis within the UK, offering pieces that are not widely available elsewhere. This allows us to present a collection that feels considered, individual and quietly distinctive.

About us
Jarva Gallery is led by mother and daughter duo Ellie and Lyndsey Selley, bringing together a shared passion for art, craftsmanship and meaningful connection.
The name Jarva holds deep personal significance. During her travels in South Africa as a working artist, Lyndsey encountered a striking leopard known locally as Jarva, an experience that became a lasting source of inspiration for her wildlife work. The leopard went on to influence many of her original paintings and limited-edition prints, becoming closely associated with her artistic identity.
When it came time to open the gallery, it felt only fitting to carry that name forward. Today, Jarva remains a symbol of the creativity, independence and spirit that continue to shape the gallery.

Jarva Gallery was founded by artist Lyndsey Selley, built on a deep respect for craftsmanship and a genuine love of connection.
Over the past 17 years, Lyndsey has created a gallery shaped by its artists – representing individuals with real talent and a strong artistic voice. The focus has always been on the work itself and the people behind it, rather than simply the act of selling.
