From little treats just for you to exclusive artworks by local designers and makers, Isla will set your ideas flowing – whether you’re looking for that unique gift or inspiration for your home…
As well as original artwork and prints, you’ll find an emporium of beautiful things here featuring design-led gifts including vibrant ceramics, soothing fragrant candles, bath-time pampering, distinct accessories for the home and a wide range of stylish and unusual greeting cards and wrapping paper.
Owners, husband and wife team Isla Dawes and Mark Brighton are keen to showcase and support local artists -“since opening last year, we’ve found some stunning work from around the Peak District and East Midlands. It’s amazing the amount of talent that’s out there – we’ve found glass blowers, painters, an embroidery maker, a clock maker, digital artwork and a felt maker to name a few”, said Isla.
The hugely popular National Railway Museum vintage prints are available in-store featuring well known locations in the Peak District and Derbyshire.
The gallery space set aside specifically for local artists’ work is currently home to a rather motley crew of cleverly handmade felt creatures, made by Nottinghamshire artist Charlotte Hills.
A large flying dragon, badger, Scottish Wild Cat, field mouse, a couple of brown bears, a Polar bear and more and amongst her pieces you’ll find here – and no two are the same so you can own something completely unique.
