The festival will be headlined by the renowned National Gilbert & Sullivan Opera Company, presenting three of the canon’s most-loved productions: The Mikado, The Pirates of Penzance, and HMS Pinafore.

The Mikado, directed by Jeff Clarke, is set to be a sumptuous and stylish production. Reimagined within the world of a flamboyant fashion designer’s atelier, the familiar topsy-turvy tale is brought to life with bold creativity and dazzling new designs. The production is conducted by John Andrews, and stars renowned patterman Simon Butteriss as Ko-Ko.

An all-time favourite with Buxton audiences, The Pirates of Penzance is directed by John Savournin. Brimming with wit, warmth and irrepressible humour, this much-loved production never fails to delight. It is conducted by James Hendry.

HMS Pinafore, directed by Sarah Helsby Hughes, brings its sparkling nautical tale of love and class on the high seas to Buxton.  Conducted by James Hendry, the production is set to be one of the highlights of the 2026 Festival.
