The Edwardian Event returns to Crich Tramway Village, nr. Matlock on Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th July following its continued popularity – this year featuring World World War I anniversary elements.
As well as re-enactors, who will create a Suffragette Rally, there will be the Old Time Music Hall, featuring Tommies Tunes and audience participation.
There’s plenty to see and do for all the family in the village which offers breath-taking views of the surrounding Derwent Valley. Visitors to the event can enjoy unlimited rides on the vintage trams and don’t miss the Bundy Clock at Town End Terminus, the tram depots and the adjacent Exhibition Hall.
Stretch your legs on the sculpture trail with the Woodland Walk as the perfect place to escape for a picnic or to while away the hours surrounded by nature. Look out for the sculptures which lurk around every corner such as the Troll and the Green Man!
Continue your step back in time and soak up the atmosphere with a drink in the Red Lion Pub, a visit to the old style sweet shop – Barnett’s or refreshments in Rita’s Tearooms.
Street theatre will be featured during the weekend including confrontations between a tram crew and suffragettes! All those dressing in Edwardian costume will receive group rates for the daytime entrance and activities.
The villages’ Sheffield 15 horse tram will be running both dates (additional charge of £1.00 per person applies to ride on the horse tram).
