Champneys Buxton Crescent Hotel is an iconic, Grade I listed, Georgian building and one of the most architecturally significant buildings in the country, following a meticulous multi-million-pound renovation, seamlessly blending 200 years of heritage with modern luxury. This landmark destination has been transformed into a stunning hotel and contemporary health spa that draws on the natural thermal spring waters flowing from beneath the building.

The spa offers day experiences and a range of beauty and wellness treatments.

Whether you’re winding down after a busy day or treating yourself during a stay, the spa welcomes both overnight guests and day visitors.

The spa has three pools: a relaxation pool beneath a starry ceiling, an indoor-to-outdoor heated rooftop pool, and a thermal pool filled with heated Buxton mineral water. The thermal pool is surrounded by original wall tiles dating from the 1924 refurbishment and has a new stained-glass canopy.

  • Bio-thermal sauna – A sauna and steam combination, set at around 60°C.
  • Infrared sauna – Uses infrared heat.
  • Steam room – A humid heat room.
  • Aroma steam room – A mosaic-tiled steam room with added scents.
  • Finnish sauna – A traditional dry sauna, around 80–90°C.
  • Relaxation room – A quiet space with loungers.
  • Salt cave – A salt-lined room with reclining chairs.
  • Ice fountain – For cooling down after the heat experiences.

The Spa Café

The Spa Café serves drinks, light bites and afternoon tea. It is open 9am – 7pm, with food served 10am – 6.30pm, for spa-day guests and hotel residents. See the current menu.
