The Buxton Crescent is an iconic, Grade I listed, Georgian building and one of the most architecturally significant buildings in the country, following a meticulous multi-million-pound renovation, seamlessly blending 200 years of heritage with modern luxury. This landmark destination has been transformed into a stunning hotel and contemporary health spa that draws on the natural thermal spring waters flowing from beneath the building.
The Spa offers a unique, luxury spa experience combining traditional beauty therapies with wellness and holistic treatments.
Whether you’re winding down after a busy day or treating yourself during a stay, the spa welcomes both overnight guests and day visitors.
Facilities include three exquisite pools – an indoor relaxation pool under a midnight starry ceiling, an indoor to outdoor heated rooftop pool accessible in any weather, and a thermal pool filled with Buxton Mineral water under a stunning stained-glass canopy with original features dating back to 1924 when the Victorian baths were last refurbished.
The spa facilities feature:
- Bio-Thermal Sauna – A great combination of sauna and steam, the temperature is set at a comfortable 60 degrees.
- Infra-Red Sauna – Creates heat and warms the body (rather than the air).
- Steam Room – This large steam room is ideal for guests who struggle with the dry heat experiences.
- Aroma Steam Room – Uplifting scents fill the mosaic tiled room, this gentler steam room is ideal for relaxing muscles and easing tension.
- Finnish Sauna – A large traditional Finnish sauna with a heat of around 80 – 90 degrees to help aid relation and tired muscles.
- Relaxation Room – With atmospheric black tiling and heated body contoured mosaic tiled beds and salt lamps.
- Salt Cave – A room handcrafted from salt blocks from Hungary – recline in a comfy chair and breath in the salty air
- Ice Fountain – Two experience showers sit along side the Ice Fountain where you can cool off after the heat experiences.
The Spa Café offers the perfect accompaniment to your spa experience, serving drinks, light bites, sandwiches, light lunches and Afternoon Tea. With comfortable seating inside as well as an outdoor terrace over looking The Slopes, the space is a peaceful hideaway during your visit. The Spa Cafe is open 9am – 7.30pm and food is served all day.
