There’s nothing like putting on your winter warmies, standing round a big hot bonfire and watching fireworks magically light up the sky…remember to take care if you’re using fireworks at home and keep pets indoors if you can around this time, but most of all…enjoy! Here’s our handy guide of a round up of the best Bonfire Events in Buxton this year…

When: 1st November 2019, from 6.30pm

Where: Buxton Rugby Club, Sunnyfields, Harpur Hill, SK17 9PX

With an extensive range of fireworks and a huge bonfire, this is ideal if you are not able to make other display dates.

Under 12s must be accompanied by an adult.

Entry / Cost: Adults / 16 years and over £5 per person, under 16s FREE (with accompanying adult), Family of 4 £10

Tickets on sale on the gate, from 6pm onwards.


When: 2nd November 2019, 6pm site opens, 6.30pm fire lit, fireworks to follow.

Where: Buxton Cricket Ground, Park Road

Its one of the High Peak’s biggest displays and this year will be no exception. This display is great if you fancy drinks after as you’re only a few minutes from a number of bars in town.

Hog roast, burgers, mulled wine, soft drinks etc. Vendors selling candy floss, light sticks etc. too.

Please note: Children under 15 must be accompanied by an adult.

Where: Buxton Cricket Ground, Park Road

Entry / Cost: Advance tickets are £8 per person, under 15s go FREE. Advance tickets can be purchased from Buxton Opera House online at Pre-booked tickets must be posted or collected from Buxton Opera House Box Office.  Buxton Opera House ticket sales will close at 3pm on the day. Tickets be can purchased on the gate on the day at Buxton Cricket Ground at £10 per person.


When: 3rd November 2019, action starts from 2pm with bonfire and fireworks to follow

Where: Buxton Raceway, Dale Head Road, Buxton, SK17 0RR

Monster Trucks, HUGE display of fireworks, 1800 Street Bangers Gold Roof Final plus Fig of 8 and Destruction Derby, Open Rods British Championship / Whites and Yellows Championship/ 2020 Gold Roof QR, Hot Fords British Championship

Entry / Cost: £16 per adult inc. programme, Senior £13, Children 9 – 15yrs £7, Children up to and inc. 8 years FREE,Trackside parking £6, Additional programme £1.


When: 5th November 2019, bonfire lit at 7pm, fireworks at 7.30pm

Where: Dove Holes Community Association (village hall), Hallsteads, Dove Holes

The annual Dove Holes Community Association bonfire display will be back bigger and better than ever! Bar, food and refreshments available.

Entry / Cost: Adults £5 , children £3, family ticket £12 (family ticket is 2 adults and 2 children)


When: 9th November 2019, from 7pm

Where: Sterndale Moor, nr. Buxton

To commemorate 75 years since the D-Day landings, Sterndale Moor will hold it’s annual Remembrance Bonfire and Fireworks Extravaganza. Last years event was a roaring success. Please come along and support this unique event. Refreshments and hot food will be available. Fireworks are by Fuze-Fireworks who fire for Chatsworth.

Entry / Cost: Suggested donation entrance fee £2, children free
