One Night in Buxton: A race across the Peaks in this magical adventure!

Taking inspiration from BBC’s Race Across the World, four intrepid adventurers, Bess, Stanley, Heather, and Marge embark on a seemingly simple challenge – setting out on what appears to be a straightforward challenge…

Traversing the Derbyshire Peaks without the aid of smartphones, money, or modern comforts. However, their journey soon evolves into an extraordinary adventure!

As the season turn erratic and darkness envelops the land, they are swept into a magical realm on a quest to recover the stolen February Moon and restore the balance of nature.

Inspired by Derbyshire folklore

Drawing from Derbyshire folklore, One Night in Buxton offers a delightful mix of humour, adventure, song and dance. This epic journey takes us underground, along waterways, and atop the Peaks, where we discover secret tales and meet legendary creatures. The adventure is set to an enchanting soundtrack by local composer Clare O’Neill.

This tale is vividly brought to life by a community cast of local performers and the exceptionally skilled students from Buxton School of Performing Arts.

One Night in Buxton is on at Buxton Opera House on 1st (2.30pm & 7pm) & 2nd (3pm) February 2025.
