Barking Mad – A Day Out With Your Dog at Crich Tramway Village

Barking Mad – A Day Out With Your Dog

Exciting news for dog lovers! Crich Tramway Village in Derbyshire presents a tail-wagging extravaganza for 2024 – ‘Barking Mad – A Day Out With Your Dog’! Mark your calendars for this paw-some event where you and your furry friend can enjoy a day of fun and frolics on Sunday 19th May, 10am – 5pm.

There is of course the chance to take your beloved pooch for a tram ride! Dogs must be kept on a lead and seated on the floor of the trams for everyone’s safety.

But the fun doesn’t stop there! Get ready to strut your stuff in the dog show. There’s something for every canine personality, and the best part is, the small entry fee for the dog show goes directly to Just for Dogs, a worthy cause supporting our furry friends in need.

Dog show categories include:

  1. Waggiest Tail
  2. Best Veteran 7yrs and over
  3. Dog in Best Condition
  4. Best Family (2 or more dogs from the same home)
  5. Best Rescue
  6. Most Appealing Eyes
  7. Prettiest Lady
  8. Most Stunning Guy
  9. Best Expression
  10. The Dog the Judge Would Most Like to Take Home

For the more adventurous pups, Peak Performers Dog Sports Club will be hosting a ‘have a go’ session at fly-balling. Test your dog’s agility for just £2, with proceeds going directly to support the club’s activities.

Of course, no visit to Crich Tramway Village would be complete without a trip back in time on the vintage trams. Marvel at the traditional village street setting and breathtaking views of the Derwent Valley as you ride through open countryside.

And when it’s time to refuel, there’s plenty on offer. Relax and enjoy refreshments at The Red Lion Pub or grab a snack at The Poulson Room. Indulge your sweet tooth with traditional treats from Barnett’s Sweet Shop or cool off with a delicious ice cream from Matlock Meadows Ice Cream Kiosk.

For those looking to stretch their legs, the woodland park and sculpture trail offer the perfect opportunity for a stroll with your four-legged friend. And don’t forget to check out the outdoor adventure playground and indoor play areas for the little ones.

With so much to see and do, ‘Barking Mad – A Day Out With Your Dog’ promises to be an unforgettable event for the whole family. Don’t miss out on the fun – book your tickets now and make memories with your furry companion!
