Art in the Octagon: Third Year of Creative Extravaganza

Art in the Octagon is back for its third year and open Monday – Wednesday 8th, 9th and 10th July, open 10am to 5pm each day. This flagship event taking place in The Octagon Hall, Pavilion Gardens, is showcasing the extraordinary talents of 30 members of the esteemed High Peak Artists Group, who exhibit year-round at the Gallery in the Gardens.

This year, they are also joined by special guest and award-winning mixed media artist Rob Wilson.

With last year’s event drawing record visitors and earning a nomination for Best Visual Art Event at the 2023 Buxton Festival Fringe awards, this summer’s exhibition promises to be even more impressive. Ahead of opening on Monday, we had the privilege of getting a sneak preview of the event, offering a closer look at the artists’ work and displays.

Artist Demonstrations

Each exhibitor will be actively engaged, either demonstrating their art or craft at their stands or explaining their techniques. Visitors can expect to see a variety of artistic processes, including oils, pastels, urban sketching, silk painting, wood turning, photography, printmaking, ceramics, jewellery, textiles, and more.
