Located in The Slopes, Grade II listed and opened in 1920, the War Memorial has an attractive Art Deco design.
Lies within the official boundary of the ‘Buxton Conservation Area’.
The War Memorial commemorates servicemen who lost their lives during World War I and II. Every year on Remembrance Day a public remembrance service takes place here.
Ideal for watching entertainment in the summer and a great picnic spot with attractive views over The Crescent and Buxton Opera House.
TIP: There are seats surrounding The Cenotaph, so take a moment away from the hustle and bustle in this quite spot of the town centre and enjoy the views of Buxton and the magnificent Crescent below.
