Dub Kitchen & Bar celebrate nearly a decade of clean eats with new Autumn menu

Dub Kitchen & Bar new menu

With an emphasis on delicious, healthy food and a relaxed atmosphere, Dub Kitchen & Bar has remained a staple of Buxton’s high street since 2015. Channeling the independent, modern vibe of Higher Buxton, the licensed café bar has built up a reputation not only for friendly staff and scrumptious eats but also for the occasional belting night out. Rejecting the traditional sleepy, small town atmos, Dub bursts with a chic vitality that sets it apart from other eateries.

New Autumn menu

Boasting an average rating of 5/5 out of 189 reviews on Tripadvisor and 4.7/5 out of 174 on Google shouts for itself. The word on the streets whispers frequently of their famous Sunday roast dinner (which can be ordered as a takeaway!) but of course they offer dinner, breakfast, brunch, lunch or just drinks.

With a brand Autumn new menu just launched, the food here remains loyal to its clean eating ethos when ‘Dubbin Good Food’ first began as a takeaway business offering their now infamous lunch boxes.

Going back to their roots

Returning slightly to their roots that established them in the first place, you can ‘build your own dish’ choosing a base of rice, a wrap or a healthy tub, then selecting a protein; chicken, tofu, fish, etc. crowned by a tastebud-tantalising sauce.

Owner Hannah said, “We’ve been revolutionising the clean eating approach ever since we opened. People are more health conscious now about what they eat than ever before. The pandemic lead to more people cooking at home, encouraging them to become more discerning and experimental with ingredients. Our latest menu is a nod to our origins.”

‘Build your own’ breakfast

You can also build your own breakfast! It’s a fun approach but you can have all the usual sandwiches, burgers and cakes too, albeit with a sprinkle of Dub magic. The strong philosophy continues with no processed food in sight. They only use fresh local ingredients so you’re really guaranteed that homegrown quality.

Dub is the perfect location for a relaxed lunch, whether it’s a business meet-up or mums catching up with their little ones (they have a kids’ menu). For adventurers, this makes a great pit-stop before embarking on a scenic walk in the Peak District. And new in – they now stock freshly baked sweet treats from Whaley Bridge based The Bridge Bakehouse, renowned for their classic British favourite cakes alongside fine French pastries.

Regular DJ nights

It’s not all about the grub: Dub has a fully-licensed bar with hand-pulled beers and eclectic menu of imaginative cocktails. You may also notice the presence of two wheels of steel. This is a frequent haunt of local DJs and regular evening events, where DKB bursts with colour and beats and perhaps a slightly older crowd who still have old school blood flowing through their veins. Keep an eye on Facebook for their next event.

If you have an occasion of your own to celebrate and need a venue or catering, or both, then Dub can help. The can cater for everything from baby showers to christenings to weddings and more and you’ll be in the seasoned hands of Hannah and her squad. Contact them on Instagram, Facebook or see contact details below.

Whatever your mission, this is the destination that covers all bases and it’s become an essential part of the Buxton experience. Head there soon for a decent feed, a drink or even a dance. We’ll see you there!
