Buxton Spring Fair Set to Bring a Day of Celebration to the Town Centre

Buxton Spring Fair – what’s on & timings throughout the time

Spring is set to arrive in style in Buxton as the much-loved Buxton Spring Fair returns on Monday 4th May 2026. Promising a vibrant mix of food, entertainment, community spirit and family fun, the event will transform the town centre into a bustling festival atmosphere for visitors of all ages.

Stretching across key locations including the Slopes, The Crescent, The Square, Spring Gardens and The Market Place, this year’s fair is shaping up to be one of the biggest and most exciting yet.

A Feast for the Senses

Food lovers will be spoilt for choice, with no fewer than 12 hot food vendors serving up flavours from around the world. Expect everything from Thai and Indian cuisine to pizza, Greek dishes, hog roasts, crepes, doughnuts and much more.

To keep you refreshed throughout the day, three local bars will be on hand offering a wide variety of beverages – so you certainly won’t go thirsty.

Shop, Discover and Support Local

With over 100 craft, charitable and community stalls, there will be plenty to explore. Visitors can browse a huge selection of goods including jewellery, cakes, plants, artwork, candles and unique gifts – alongside many more treasures waiting to be discovered.

Live Entertainment Across the Town

Music and performance will be at the heart of the day, with three performance areas hosting an exciting lineup. Expect:

  • 12 live bands and singers
  • 2 choirs
  • Drummers
  • Traditional Morris dancers
  • A special appearance from The Billerettes from Buxton

Adding to the atmosphere will be a wide variety of street entertainment and interactive activities.

Family Fun and Attractions

There’s something for everyone at Buxton Spring Fair, with a host of activities designed to keep families entertained throughout the day:

  • Classic cars on display in The Square
  • Children’s rides in The Crescent
  • Circus skills, face painting and bubbles
  • Ice cream stalls for a sweet treat
  • Normannis re-enactment on the events field
  • A live feature from the Leighton Morris podcast

Activities on The Slopes

The Slopes will be a hub of action and hands-on experiences, featuring:

  • Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service, bringing a fire engine and water rescue van
  • Derbyshire Cave Rescue Organisation, complete with their fascinating mobile cave
  • Buxton Mountaineering Club, hosting their popular hangtime competition and sharing information about mountain activities in the High Peak
  • A fun Penalty Shoot Out challenge
  • Entertainment from Buxton Sparkles, with Andrea and Dave returning to delight crowds with their bubble displays
