Meanwhile, the Leek campus boasts state-of-the-art workshops and facilities such as Salon Inspire for hair & beauty, the Leek School of Art, and engineering and carpentry workshops. Subjects like Art & Design, Hair & Beauty, Carpentry & Joinery, and Engineering will be highlighted.
T Levels: new way to develop your career
This relatively new way of learning offers an innovative approach to education. T Levels give you the chance to gain meaningful work experience alongside your studies; this includes a substantial work placement of 45 days with an employer focused on developing the practical and technical skills required for the occupation.
Why study a T Level?
- 80% classroom learning, 20% workplace learning
- 45 day work placement
- Equivalent to three A Levels
- A nationally recognised qualification
- Opportunity to build essential skills desired by employers
- Progression to employment, university, or a Higher Apprenticeship
Each year Buxton & Leek College has expanded its T Level options across various subject areas and they now offer Engineering, Carpentry & Joinery, Education and Childcare, Health Science and Digital, with Culinary coming soon. These pathways can lead to a wide variety of exciting careers.
School leavers interested in the nationally recognised qualification will be able to speak to tutors about T Levels at the Open Event.
