Crescent Crafts: Espionage Excitement
Get ready for a spy-themed adventure during half-term! The Assembly Rooms will become a thrilling hub of espionage. Perfect for families, the day includes ‘Through the Lens’ photography offering pay-as-you-feel photo shoots. It’s a great chance to embark on an adventure and create lasting memories.

Cocktails & Canvas: Halloween
Unleash your creativity at this spooky painting session, perfect for beginners, with step-by-step instructions. Get into the Halloween spirit with Cocktails and Canvas and sip on Halloween cocktails while you paint a pumpkin masterpiece. Add your own spooky touch by embellishing your canvas with a cat, bats, skeletons, or even a toad! Enjoy special Halloween cocktails for just £3.50 in this iconic venue.

Georgian & Regency Costume Exhibition
Next month, don’t miss an exclusive exhibition showcasing Georgian and Regency costumes from a remarkable private collection of film and television costumes and props from the British Film Museum. The collection features a wide variety of period attire, with a special emphasis on British-produced films set during the Napoleonic and Regency eras. Highlights include iconic costumes from the Sharpe TV series and several recent films, along with many other captivating pieces. Over 20 costumes will be on display, accompanied by a selection of props and accessories.

Dickensian Ball
Hot on the heels of the sold-out success of the Regency Ball, November brings another highlight – the Dickensian Ball. Step back into the 19th century and immerse yourself in the charm and elegance of the Victorian era. Enjoy an enchanting evening of dancing and entertainment in the historic Buxton Crescent, with authentic period music setting the scene. Don’t forget to dress up in your finest Victorian attire for this magical event.

Candle Making Workshop with On A Wick & a Prayer
Kick off December with the hugely popular Candle Making Workshop, led by Annie, founder of On a Wick & a Prayer and a candle-making expert with over 25 years of experience. Annie will teach you how to craft your own candles, offering a wide range of unique fragrances, including festive Christmas scents and fun beeswax shapes.

Talk: Vera Brittain and Buxton – A Different Story + Book Launch
Explore the fascinating life of Buxton’s Vera Brittain at an exclusive talk by Kathryn Ecclestone, as she launches her new biography on Brittain. In conversation with John Phillips, former editor of the Buxton Advertiser, Kathryn will discuss how Buxton shaped the young woman who became one of the 20th century’s most important literary and political figures.

The 12 Joys of a Georgian Family Christmas
Celebrate Christmas with a fun, interactive experience for the whole family. Step back in time and interact with historical figures as you craft your own Christmas box and design a classic toy. Dance in the grand assembly rooms, cozy up for storytelling and carols by the fire, and await the arrival of the Duchess. This enchanting event offers a joyful, festive experience for all ages.
