Crafternoons in The Pump Room
Here’s one for the grown ups! Each Friday afternoon in November and December from 1pm- 3pm in the Pump Room in Buxton, enjoy a relaxed adult crafting session with their Education Manager, Louise Brooks. All materials will be provided, but you may like to bring your own sketchbook.
Sessions may include sketching, watercolour painting, pastels, collage, crochet, origami, quilling and felting or feel free to bring along your own project to work on.

On Tuesday 21st of November, the Buxton Crescent Heritage Trust will be bringing the public Chooseday. Tuesday Chooseday allows the public to select how much they would like to pay for admission to the Buxton Crescent Experience. Fancy coming in for a fiver? Go ahead. The Christmas Toyshop Mystery with Babbling Vagabonds
Discover a seasonal adventure filled with Christmas magic and cheer from those festive funsters the Babbling Vagabonds. The Christmas Toyshop Mystery takes place in the Assembly Rooms on the 28th November at 1.30pm or 6.30pm, and is a special Christmas production for all the family. When her baby brother’s beloved toy bear disappears into the mysterious Christmas Toyshop, Lucy has no choice but to dust off her deerstalker hat, grab her mini magnifying glass and follow it. However, on the other side of the door is a wild turkey chase of EPIC proportions.
Join Lucy as she tries to UNRAVEL the mysteries, FISH OUT the red herrings and FIND THE CLUES so she can retrieve her bothersome brother’s beloved bear. Using puppetry, original music, storytelling and shadows, this production brings to life the adventure of one loved Teddy. Click here to book tickets.
Buxton Sparkles Lantern Making Workshop
Join Buxton Sparkles for a Lantern Making Workshop on Wednesday 15th November 5.30pm – 7.30pm. Pop in and make a lantern for the Christmas Lights Switch On lantern parade on Saturday 18th November. It only takes 30-45 minutes and is open to everyone. You don’t need children to have a go and it’s fully accessible.
Pitter Patter Playful Activity Sessions for Under 5s
On Friday 24th November and Friday 15th December 09.20am-10.50am, little ones can enjoy Pitter Patter Playful Activities for Under 5s. Babies, toddlers and pre-schoolers are all welcome to enjoy playful activities in the Crescent Experience alongside their grown-ups.
Buxton Community Choir in The Assembly Rooms
Come and enjoy ‘Echoes in the Crescent‘ performed by Buxton Community Choir on 4th December at 7.30pm. A wonderful celebratory evening of well known songs from timeless classics to contemporary hits and festive favourites, all performed in the opulent surroundings of the Ensana Crescent Hotel Assembly Room. The Assembly Rooms: Open Access Days
Take advantage of their Open Access Days where the doors of the beautiful Georgian Assembly Rooms are opened to the public. Entry is completely free, just come along for a chat, and simply enjoy the opportunity to be in this stunning space on Wednesday 1st November and Tuesday 5th December from 10:30am – 4pm.
