Peak Ascent Cycles to host ‘bike ride’ up Mt. Everest for Charity

8 Cycle Everest

Peak Ascent Cycles will be hosting a charity event this weekend – 8 Cycle Everest.

On Saturday 10th November, 9.30am to 4pm, eight members of Buxton Cycling Club are going to cycle the height of Mt. Everest – a massive 8,848m! (29,029ft). Using static bikes linked to the internet the cyclists will virtually ride the legendary Tour de France climb of Alpe D’Huez a total of 8 times.

They’re not just doing this for fun but raising money for two very valuable local charities – Blythe House and Derbyshire Leicester & Rutland Air Ambulance.

There will be coffee and cakes available and the opportunity to ride alongside the team on the brand new Raleigh Strada E-Bike to help the team achieve their goal. We know there’s plenty of keen cyclists in the area and they need all the help they can get… 🙂

You can also support this event by donating via their Just Giving page at justgiving.com/teams/8CycleEverest
