High Peak Walking Festival 2025
Back by popular demand after the success of its 2024 debut, the High Peak Walking Festival returns from 19th – 28th September 2025 with a vibrant programme of walks, talks, and activities for all ages and abilities.
Whether you prefer gentle rambles or more demanding hikes, you’ll find a wide choice of guided and self-guided routes. Full details and downloadable itineraries are available on the Visit Peak District website here.
Hiking in the Peak District is one of the best things do in the area.
Highlights include retracing the historic Kinder Mass Trespass on a guided walk from Hayfield, sharpening your navigation skills on a one-day map-reading course, or simply soaking up the beauty and tranquillity of the area’s scenic trails.
With spectacular views across the Peak District, excellent transport links from Manchester and Sheffield, and plenty of unique places to stay and explore, the festival offers something for everyone. Head to the High Peak this September for an unforgettable walking experience.
The High Peak Walking Festival is part of a wider UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) initiative delivered by Visit Peak District & Derbyshire on behalf of High Peak Borough Council. The project is dedicated to supporting sustainable tourism and boosting the local visitor economy by encouraging responsible travel and greater visitor spend.
