Esquires Coffee opened its doors in August 2025, and despite being just a short drive from the town centre, it’s still a hidden gem for many Buxton residents. Located opposite the Foxlow Fields housing development around five minutes’ drive from the town centre, the Buxton store is the latest addition to this growing brand of over 80 locations nationwide.
While Esquires may be a well-established name, the Buxton store has quickly carved out its own identity – combining ethical values, quality food and drink, and a genuinely welcoming atmosphere.
Everything You’d Expect – and More
Like all Esquires locations, Buxton offers the full experience. Visitors can enjoy freshly prepared food throughout the day, a dedicated kids’ menu, and Esquires’ signature 100% organic and Fairtrade coffee. The drinks menu also includes ethically sourced loose-leaf teas, real fruit smoothies, and a wide range of hot and cold beverages.
Inside, the space has been carefully designed with comfort and flexibility in mind. A mix of seating options, free Wi-Fi, and plenty of plug sockets make it equally suited to catching up with friends, studying, holding informal meetings, or spending a few focused hours working.

Despite being part of a national brand, the Buxton store prides itself on feeling distinctly local.
Franchisee Raj explains:
“Although Esquires is a recognised name, we really wanted Buxton to feel independent and rooted in the community. That’s why we also offer the space for private hire out of hours – whether that’s meetings, group bookings, or events like quiz nights. We want it to be a place people genuinely use and enjoy.”
This local focus has helped Esquires become more than just a coffee stop – it’s developing into a flexible, community-friendly venue.
Meet the Team Behind the Coffee
Part of what gives Esquires in Buxton its character is the people who work there. The team is as varied as it is welcoming:

Lyn is instantly recognisable, with over 100 tattoos – and she has an impressive collection of pets including a cat, a Hermann tortoise, a five-stone sulcata tortoise, and eight royal pythons.

Freya balances life as a skilled barista by day with training as an amateur boxer by night.

Goda brings a multilingual touch to the café, speaking three languages, including Lithuanian and Russian.

Tina, the store manager, is known affectionately as a workaholic, keeping everything running smoothly behind the scenes.
Together, they help create a warm, friendly environment that regulars quickly come back for.
