Buxton Mortgage Company – your very own expert when you need it most

Buxton Morgage Company

A mortgage advisor isn’t someone you need until you’re serious about moving house. With the Government announcing an extension to the stamp duty holiday until June 2021, more of us are tempted into making that move and potentially saving thousands of pounds. It’s also good to know some local help is at hand to make upping sticks even easier.

Born and bred in Buxton, Matthew, of Buxton Mortage Company, has 20 years experience in finance, specialising as a mortgage advisor since 2002. His knowledge covers not only mortgages but insurance, business protection, buy-to-let and other aspects of the industry that leaves most of us scratching our heads. In fact, the complex language and numbers of the modern housing market is Matthew’s bread and butter: “Buying a house is your biggest purchase in life. I enjoy helping people to make their dream a reality and cut out the stress for them. I stay with the client every step of the way, right up until they’re handed the keys to the front door”.

First time buyers get helping hand from Chancellors budget

Even a short conversation with Matthew reveals his passion for the profession. An independent mortgage advisor that’s built up access to deals and lenders not available on the High Street, he really can go that extra mile to ensure his clients get the best package. His bespoke service is particularly suited to first-time buyers who benefit from the individual care and attention large companies can’t offer. In fact, Matthew’s commitment to giving the younger generation a helping hand will soon extend to him taking on an apprentice, helping them achieve industry recognised qualifications.

“The announcement in the budget for a new mortgage guarantee scheme to help people with small deposits get on the property ladder is really exciting, the likes of which we haven’t seen for many years and this should give more first time buyers a chance to finally own their own home”. The government will offer incentives to lenders, bringing back 95% mortgages which have virtually disappeared during the pandemic.

Your own dedicated expert, whenever you need it

Of course, the last year has been a challenge for everyone but mortgage advisors are accustomed to keeping their finger on the pulse and adapting. “The main difference has been the way I give advice”, Matthew explains. “I prefer face-to-face conversations and a home visit is obviously beneficial but I can offer advice on the phone or even via video call, whatever suits the client”. Matthew is flexible on time too; taking appointments up until 8pm on weekdays.

When he’s not in the office, Matthew likes to keep fit and active, getting into the great outdoors. He also enjoys cooking, particularly Asian food, learning from his wife who is from Hong Kong. However, home is where the heart is, and Matthew gets a buzz from helping his fellow Buxtonians. Knowing the town inch-by-inch means he can genuinely provide “a local service for local people”. The area he covers also extends to the rest of Derbyshire, as well as Staffordshire and South Yorkshire. Thanks to video calling, he actually can help clients all over the country.

Don’t take Explore Buxton’s word for it; you can find independent testimonials on their Facebook page. If you think Matthew can help you, get in touch. He will tell you what he can do for you and there’s no commitment.
