Please note at quieter times the building may close earlier.

Pavilion Tea Rooms: Serving homemade scones, cakes, freshly prepared sandwiches,  inventive vegetarian options and mouth-watering desserts. Open daily 11am – 2pm.

Pavilion Kitchen: Offering a takeaway service serving pizzas, hot/cold drinks, hot and cold snacks and a selection of cakes. Open daily from 9.30am – 5pm

Gallery in the Gardens: Gallery in the Gardens features the creative works of 45 local artists makers who are all members of the High Peak Artists group. Open daily from 9.30am – 5pm

Ice Cream Parlour: Open daily 11am  – 4pm

Coffee Van: Open weekends 8.30am – 3pm

Forest Gin Gift Shop: Open daily from 9.30am – 5pm

Miniature Train: Closed for Winter.

Boats on Boating Lake: Open weekend and school holidays 11am – 4pm (subject to weather)

Adventure Play Area Lakeside Kiosk: Open weekends and school holidays 11am – 4pm (subject to weather)

Kinders Garden Little Shop of Flowers: Located inside the Conservatory. Open Wednesday – Sunday 10am – 4pm.

Conservatory: Free entry. The fish are waiting to say hello! Monday – Sunday 9.30am – 5pm

Public toilets: All toilets across the park are open currently open from 9.30am to 5pm daily.

Dating back to 1871, nestled in 23 acres of gardens with water features, lakes and miniature railway.

Pavilion Kitchen offers casual dining, ideal for families including light snacks, freshly made pizza, hot and cold drinks, ice-cream and more.

Ice Cream Parlour offers more than 24 flavours of ice cream!

Outdoor seating area with picnic tables.

Gallery in the Gardens (located in the Gift Boutique) showcases 40 local artist’s works and members of High Peak Artists group.

Boating Lake with rowing boats and pedalos. Check their website for the latest opening times and prices.

Tourist Information is now available at the Buxton Visitor Centre in the The Pump Room, near The Crescent, where knowledgable staff can offer local tourist information about Buxton, the High Peak and Peak District area.

There is a year round programme of events of markets, fairs and children’s activities as well as special events during Easter, summer and at Christmas.

Parking is available on site at the 270 space parking bay located on the corner of St. John’s Road and Burlington Road. Please note that the under section of the car park closes and is locked between the hours of 6:00pm and 8:00am. Cars wishing to be released after 6pm and before 8am will incur a charge. There are eight disabled car parking bays on the ground level of the car park.

Coach parking: Pavilion Gardens allows coaches to drop their passengers off on the Promenade by prior arrangement. Coach parking is available on Burlington Road (SK17 9AY). Coaches can also park on the Promenade provided that they have arranged this prior to visiting. Additionally the Sylvan Coach park is situated off the roundabout at the intersection of the A6/A53. RSPCA Fun Dog Show

Various classes including agility! Tombola and lots of other fun activities happening on the day! All proceeds from the dog show go directly to the RSPCA.

Antique and Collectors Fair

The popular 2 day fair at the Pavilion Gardens is a mecca for vintage and antique lovers!

Over 100 quality stalls will fill the room with a wide range of items. If you are looking to add to you home, garden, wardrobe or collection it’s the place to visit.

Railex

Annual model railway exhibition held over the first full weekend in July.

When: 2nd & 3rd July 2022, Sat 9.30am to 5.30pm, Sun 9.30am to 5.00pm

Entry / Cost: Adults £9 each (inc free A4 guide), reduced price adult admission £7 after 3pm Sat / Sun. Adult-accompanied under 16’s free (max 2 per adult). Uniform Photo ID UK Forces and Service personnel £7 each.

Afternoon Dancing

Each dance runs from 1pm until 4pm with live music provided by local musician Eric Reid. There is no need to book, just turn up on the door.  Tickets are priced at £6.50 per person and include tea, coffee and biscuits. Don’t forget to bring your dancing shoes!

Buxton Festival Fringe – Fringe Sunday

It’s back! Join us for our traditional picnic and party in the park on the Pavilion Gardens Bandstand. Buy some Derbyshire ice cream and we’ll provide the entertainment. Expect dance, music, singing, comedy, fun and games! Pick up a Fringe programme or become a Fringe Friend. Mingle with the stars at this free showcase event!

Buxton Festival Fringe – Fringe @ 5

An early evening Buxton tradition complementing Buxton International Festival’s Song at Six on the same evenings on the Pavilion Gardens Bandstand. Enjoy free tasters of Fringe events from music to comedy and drama to spoken word.

Outdoor Thursday Market

An outdoor Thursday market along the promenade with an assortment of stalls selling delicious local produce including cakes, jams, fresh bread, cheese, arts and crafts.

Buxton Food and Drink Night

The Pavilion Gardens ‘Food & Drink Festival’ takes place the night before Buxton Carnival and when Buxton is buzzing with the Festival.

The Food and Drink Festivals take place outdoors along the Promenade with a great variety of drinks and hot food stalls. With an international flavour there are food stalls to suit all tastes and a wide selection of drinks stalls to include craft beers and cider, wines, champagne and cocktails.

With children’s rides* and delicious food & drink creating a great atmosphere there’s fun for all the family! *Charges apply for some activities.

Note: Some activities will be weather permitting

Buxton Carnival Weekend Bazaar

As part of the festivities there is a Weekend Bazaar in the Octagon. The Bazaars offer a great variety of stalls including stylish ladies fashions, accessories and bodycare, lots of gifts for the home including artwork, wood crafts, candles and fragrances, crafts and handcrafted textiles. Soft toys and 3D greetings cards. Antiques.

When: 9th & 10th July 2022, Saturday 9th from 10am – 7pm then Sunday 10th from 10am and 4.30pm

Art in the Octagon

An art extravaganza in the iconic Octagon Hall. Exhibition stands, demonstrations, workshops, guest artists. Meet & buy from award winning artists & makers from the High Peak Artists group. Work on show includes oils, pastels, watercolours, urban sketching, silk painting, wood carving, photography, printmaking, jewellery, ceramics, textiles & lots more.

Art & Designer Fair

Local Artists and creators are a huge part of the Pavilion Gardens and there is no better place for artists to showcase their talents at one of our Artist and Designer fairs.

Some of the products you can expect to find are art, painting and photography, jewellery and accessories, ceramics and textiles, stained glass, original and unique designs and garden ornaments.

When: 16th & 17th July 2022, Saturday from 10am – 4.30pm and Sunday until 4pm

Derbyshire City & County Youth Orchestra Concert

The Derbyshire City & County Youth Orchestra is one of the flagship large ensembles for Derby and Derbyshire, bringing together many of the most talented young musicians from schools and music centres across the city and county. This concert is the culmination of a 5 day residential course.

The programme will include:

  • Norfolk Rhapsody – Vaughan Williams
  • English Folk Song Suite – Vaughan Williams

Summer Fete

A fabulous mix of stalls in the Octagon Hall including handmade cards, artwork, gifts for adults and children, bags, plants, ladies fashion, second hand books and much more!

Book Fair

At all of the Book Fairs you will find for sale a wide range of books, covering Antiquarian, General Second Hand & Out of print, hardbacks & Paperbacks, Maps and usually some postcards & ephemera. The Subject matter is extremely varied and includes children’s books, military history, transport, topography, literature, natural history, gardening & cooking, art & illustrated, travel & exploration, local history and much more.

Whether you are looking for collectors’ items or just want a good read, there will always be something of interest.

H&H Classic Car Auction

H&H is one again returning to the Octagon Hall. The venue  become synonymous with H&H to their most loyal clientele dating back to their first auction in 1993. We encourage you to join us in celebration by consigning your popular classic vehicle to what promises to be a truly monumental auction in trading history.
