Pavilion Tea Rooms: Open 11.30am – 3pm, offering coffee/tea & cakes each day and light meals on some days. Please speak to a member of Tea Room staff on arrival.

The Ice Cream Parlour: Open daily offering a takeaway service with ice creams, hot/cold drinks and snacks 9am – 6pm.

Coffee Van / 8am – 10.30am Offering hot/cold drinks and light snacks for those early birds!

Pavilion Kitchen: Open daily 10am – 5pm, offering a takeaway service serving pizzas, hot/cold drinks, hot and cold snacks and a selection of cakes.

Gallery in the Gardens: Open daily 9.30am – 5pm, access via the main doors on the promenade.

Forest Gin, The Little Shop and Forest Gin Garden: (in the retail arcade), access via the main doors on the promenade, Monday – Thursday 9.30am – 6pm / Friday & Saturday 9.30am – 8pm / Sunday 9.30am – 5pm.

Miniature Train: Currently weekends only from 10.30am, weather permitting. From 24th July, open daily until September.

Lakeside Kiosk: Currently weekends only, offering a takeaway refreshments service and toilets, weather permitting. From 24th July, open daily until September.

Boats on Boating Lake: Currently weekends only – from 11am on Saturdays and 12 noon on Sundays, weather permitting. From 24th July, open daily until September.

Kinders Garden Little Shop of Flowers: Open daily 10am – 4pm, located at the lower end of the Conservatory, next to Buxton Opera House

Conservatory: Open daily 10am – 4pm, free entry, the fish are waiting to say hello!

Public toilets: The Car Park toilets open daily 8am – 6pm. Main building toilets are open daily from 9.30am.

COVID-19 Information

  • The COVID-19 Community Testing Centre is open here (Opposite the Swimming Pool) from 1st to 30th July 2021,  Thursdays and Fridays, 9am – 5pm. The testing centre is NOT for anyone with coronavirus symptoms. You do not have to book, just walk-in. Find out more here.
  • Social distancing measures will continue to be in place for the time being.
  • Staff will continue to follow hand washing guidelines and will be trained in COVID-19 precautions.
  • Various measures will continue to be in place to ensure cleanliness and sanitisation.
  • Card payments only at this time.

Dating back to 1871, nestled in 23 acres of gardens with water features, lakes and miniature railway.

Pavilion Kitchen offers casual dining, ideal for families including light snacks, freshly made pizza, hot and cold drinks, ice-cream and more.

Ice Cream Parlour offers more than 24 flavours of ice cream!

Outdoor seating area with picnic tables.

Gallery in the Gardens (located in the Gift Boutique) showcases 40 local artist’s works and members of High Peak Artists group.

Boating Lake has rowing boats and pedalos – £10 for 30 minutes or £14 for 45 minutes per boat. The boats will re-open in Spring 2020. Boats take up to 4 people and will be available 10.30am Monday – Saturday with last admission at 4pm, and from 12.30pm on Sundays, with last admission at 4pm.

Tourist Information is now available at the Buxton Visitor Centre in the The Pump Room, near The Crescent, where knowledgable staff can offer local tourist information about Buxton, the High Peak and Peak District area.

There is a year round programme of events of markets, fairs and children’s activities as well as special events during Easter, summer and at Christmas.

Parking is available on site at the 270 space parking bay located on the corner of St. John’s Road and Burlington Road. Please note that the under section of the car park closes and is locked between the hours of 6:00pm and 8:00am. Cars wishing to be released after 6pm and before 8am will incur a charge. There are eight disabled car parking bays on the ground level of the car park.

Coach parking: Pavilion Gardens allows coaches to drop their passengers off on the Promenade by prior arrangement. Coach parking is available on Burlington Road (SK17 9AY). Coaches can also park on the Promenade provided that they have arranged this prior to visiting. Additionally the Sylvan Coach park is situated off the roundabout at the intersection of the A6/A53. H&H return to the Octagon Hall at the Pavilion Gardens in Buxton for 2021. The venue has become synonymous with H&H to their most loyal clientele dating back to their first auction in 1993. We encourage you to join us in celebration by consigning your popular classic vehicle to what promises to be a truly monumental auction in trading history.

BBC Philharmonic with Jennifer Pike

Through all its activities and endeavours, from its concerts and recordings to its technological innovations and dynamic learning programme, the BBC Philharmonic keeps one guiding ambition in mind – to bring life-changing music experiences to large and diverse audiences across the UK and around the world.

After a triumphant first appearance at the 2019 Festival, the BBC Philharmonic returns to Buxton. Also returning is BIF’s Artist in Residence for 2021, Jennifer Pike.

Buxton Food & Drink Night

The Food and Drink Festivals take place outdoors along the Promenade with a great variety of drinks and hot food stalls. With an international flavour there are food stalls to suit all tastes and a wide selection of drinks stalls to include craft beers and cider, wines, champagne and cocktails. Inflatable Fun Time in the Octagon Hall

“Bramhall’s Amusements” Children’s Inflatable Fun is returning to the Octagon for 3 weeks of the summer holidays!

Only one adult per child/group of children due to limited capacity. Advance booking is essential. Details to follow.

Toy Fair

The long-running Toy Fair is held in the Octagon Hall, a part of the Victorian Pavilion Gardens complex. The Buxton Toy Collectors Fair sees the historic Pavilion Gardens packed full with 150 stalls selling all kinds of toys, trains and models.

The dealers who take stalls at the show travel from all over the country and bring with them a huge selection of new and old collectable’s to sell. Prices start from just £1 and can run up to several hundred pounds for the very rarest items.

Collectors of die-cast models can find plenty of variety at Buxton. D.M. Promotional Models, Dalesman Die-cast and others all offer a huge selection of Corgi, Vanguards, Tekno, EFE, Lledo, Minichamps and other die-cast models – with many at bargain prices.
