With Christmas fast approaching, the time has come to start thinking about shopping, decorating your home and writing out your Christmas card list – panic not!
Shopping for gifts can sometimes be tricky, especially when you’re trying to steer away from generic ideas offered by the chains. Luckily Isla should come to the rescue…
There’s no need to join the mad rush on Christmas Eve, wondering what to fill those stockings with for your wife, husband, mum, dad, brother, sister, grandparents, aunt – Isla in Buxton is now laden with an array of Christmas treats.
An emporium of unusual and creative gifts, artwork and prints and beautiful things for your home alongside a wide range of greeting cards and wrapping paper, the independent store prides itself on offering something a little different as well as regularly showcasing local artists’ work.
Own original art
If you’re a fan of original artwork or know some who is, the gallery space currently features work by various local artists including the fantastic felt creatures made by Nottinghamshire artist Charlotte Hills – bears, otters, pandas, rabbits, a dragon and more. The colourful and imaginative work by Mark Brighton is available as prints and greetings cards.
The range of jewellery features the work by Derbyshire silversmith Rebecca Green. The distinctive, one-of-a-kind hand made pieces are created using the ancient lost wax casting technique.
The shop is a treasure trove of stocking fillers and a Santa’s grotto of perfect Christmas gifts. Other curiosities include pretty tea-towels and coasters, dramatic 3-D wall art, decorative notebooks, cushions, cosmetic bags, luxury bath-time treats and more.
The hugely popular National Railway Museum vintage prints continue to be available featuring well known locations in the Peak District, Derbyshire and Buxton.
Going back to Christmas – it won’t be long before the anticipation of opening the daily doors of our Advent Calendars and Isla has a beautiful range to choose from.
And finally, the Christmas tree! The tree decorations have arrived featuring weird and wonderful designs if you want to go for the wow factor.
10% of all sales on specifically Christmas items will also be donated to Blythe House Hospice.
