It is 25 years since the International Gilbert & Sullivan Festival opened in Buxton Opera House.  And what a fascinating quarter of a century it has been.

Although the Festival left the town amid stormy scenes and equally stormy headlines in 2013, the Festival’s critically acclaimed National Gilbert & Sullivan Opera company just couldn’t keep away and have performed to almost full houses for a week in July ever since.

Celebrate at the Silver Jubilee Gala Dinner at Pavilion Arts Centre

In 2018 the Festival’s silver jubilee celebrations will start in the place where it all began in 1994.  On Monday 30th July there will be a Gala Dinner celebration in the Pavilion Arts Centre in Buxton followed by a nostalgic programme of memories covering a most eventful journey which has created the most important Gilbert and Sullivan event anywhere in the world.
