Gallery in the Gardens exhibition unveils new art work

Share With Friends

Trying to put aside the uncertainty surrounding the future of their gallery under possible new ownership, the members of High Peak Artists continue to offer some of the best locally made art & craft in the area. With a brand new selection of work now on display in their permanent exhibition Gallery in the Gardens – all works are available to purchase.

They would of course like to continue to offer locals and visitors high quality local art & craft and are hoping that any new owners will feel the same.

Open 7 days per week, artists are always on duty in the gallery to talk to you more about work on display.

The group, established for 23 years, and numbering 43 members, has just enjoyed an excellent summer with sales up on last year and many members having their best ever year in the gallery.

About the Gallery and High Peak Artists

The group now has 43 members covering a multitude of disciplines including various forms of painting; printmaking, photography, ceramics, sculpture, glass, wood, textiles & jewellery. And the best thing is, everything you see here at the exhibition is available to buy, so you can find something truly unique and even collect pieces by your favourite artist.

Gallery in the Gardens exhibition at Pavilion Gardens features work by many acclaimed and award winning artists such as Eric Wilson, Pauline Townsend, Jill Kerr, Louise Jannetta, Yvonne Oates, Catriona Hall, Howard Levitt,Kathy MacMillan and Ingrid Katarina Karlsson.

All work is handmade by local craftsmen – unlike imported, mass produced products on sale elsewhere.  It is also one of the few free, wet weather visitor attractions in the Peak District! If you fancy some lunch or a hot drink, a full menu is available in the Pavilion Gardens Café.

The gallery has been a huge success and frequently receives praise for the quality, variety and affordability of the work on offer.  A waiting list operates and membership is by selection for artists who wish to exhibit here. Get in touch to find out more. All members are local artists & makers and the group receives no external funding and is entirely self-sufficient.
