There’s plenty of Easter events in the Peak District and Derbyshire – from Easter egg hunts in stately homes and historic houses, special Easter events for kids all the family and the of course the traditional Easter egg hunt, plan a fun filled Easter weekend with our pick of 10 events not to miss.

1. Easter Adventure Quest at Bolsover Castle

Adventurers wanted this Easter weekend! You’ll meet characters from the past with stories of times gone by – maybe a king, a butler, a Roman centurion or even a monk. These honourable folk will be happy to help you on your quest as you explore Bolsover Castle and crack the clues. Rise to the challenge and win your chocolate reward. It’s time to get hands-on with history.

2. Fleecy Easter Crafts at Kedleston Hall

Drop in for some self-led sheep themed crafts throughout the Easter Holidays and help celebrate all things fleecy!

3. Pavilion Gardens Easter Extravaganza

Over 60 stalls, with dancing and children’s entertainment including children’s art competition. There’s the beautiful gardens to enjoy a walk round and also food and drink available in the restaurant and cafe as well as an ice cream parlour.

4. Easter at Chatsworth

Enjoy the Easter holidays at Chatsworth – from rides on the Easter Eggspress to hunting for hidden chocolate eggs. The house, garden, farmyard and playground are open as usual during the Easter holidays with fun activities for all the family. There’s also an Easter egg hunt and an Easter craft session in the farmyard.

5. Cadbury Easter Egg Hunt at Hardwick Hall

Get outdoors this Easter and enjoy our hunts around the house, garden and along Lady Spencer’s wood. There will be a chocolate reward for all. Also enjoy nature Easter themed crafts. Children must be accompanied by adults.

6. Cat in the Hat Easter Crafts at Sudbury Hall and the National Childhood Museum

Celebrating 60 years since ‘Cat in the Hat’ by Dr Seuss was published, come and make a Cat in the Hat to cause mayhem in your house! Don’t miss the Cadbury egg hunt too, on from 14th – 17th April, entry per child £1.50.

7. Exhibition about the traditions of Easter and enjoy an egg hunt at Haddon Hall

Explore the traditions of Easter – from Lent to Maundy money, Haddon’s Hares to Easter bunnies, simnel cakes, hot cross buns and eggs – and their links to Christian and pagan beliefs down the centuries. And of course the Easter egg hunt on Easter Sunday. All in the surroundings of the one the most picturesque historic houses in the country.

8. Cadbury Egg Hunt – Explore Lyne Hall just like Thomas Legh, Lyme’s great explorer.

Thomas had adventures all over the world so this Easter come and have your own adventure following his footsteps…then enjoy yummy Cadbury chocolate as your reward!

Remember to get your tickets from the ticket office before heading off on your adventure!

9. Easter Egg Hunt at Ilam Hall

See the lambs and spring flowers as you explore beautiful Ilam Park in search of clues hiding in the woods. When you have completed the trail, you can collect your Cadbury chocolate prize! Dogs are welcome at this event. No booking needed.

10. The Easter Eggstravaganza at Carsington Water

Hop along their Easter themed trail, solving eggcellent puzzles along the way. Collect your trail leaflet from the Visitor Centre reception and see what reward the Easter Bunny has left you. A superb day out where children and all the family can enjoy the wildlife.
