Gingers snack bar in Fairfield has officially opened and is now under new management, following a Facebook competition to find a new name for the business – previously known as Fairfield Snack Shack, located on New High Street/Bench Road in Fairfield, Buxton. Sarah Townsend, who took over the business in April, was looking for a new challenge and saw the perfect opportunity with the business.
Having worked in catering since the age of 13, first beginning as a pot washer at the Buckingham Hotel, Sarah has always had a huge passion for food. She also grew up in Fairfield on New High Street and said ” it’s like coming home really, this is where I grew up and spent many happy years as a child, so i’m back here, it feels brilliant and i love serving the local community with decent, tasty, fresh homemade food”.
Sarah wanted to bring her own ideas to the snack bar and bring some of her own personality to the business so she decided to run a competition on Facebook in search for inspiration for a new name: winner Wendy Taylor, came up with Gingers and the redesign began – with everything in orange!
Gingers decided to go even more orange for an entry into this years Buxton Well Dressing Festival, winning 1st Prize for Best Dressed Business – and the Buxton Sainsbury’s store kindly donated 1500 of their orange carrier bags to dress the shop!
Traditional breakfasts are served all day as well as salad boxes (for just £3.80 for a large box), omelettes, toasties, burgers, cold sandwiches with various fillings, Derbyshire Oatcakes and oven baked jacket potatoes. There’s also a large range of sweet treats on offer with various homemade cakes.
