University of Derby Buxton Open Day
The University of Derby Buxton will host an Open Day on Thursday 13th November 2025, from 5pm – 7pm, at the iconic Devonshire Dome – inviting prospective students to discover an exciting range of new vocational programmes launching in 2026.
The event offers the opportunity to explore these forthcoming courses, experience the University’s outstanding facilities, and meet the expert staff who help students turn their ambitions into reality.
Exciting New Courses Coming in 2026
The University’s Further Education department is preparing to launch an impressive suite of brand-new vocational programmes in 2026, designed to equip learners with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in their chosen industries, including:

Travel and Tourism Level 2 and 3
-
Business, Finance, Agricultural, and Media T Level
As well as the usual opportunities to explore the industry-standard facilities and speak to knowledgeable staff, the Devonshire Dome will also be home to a series of subject talks so students can find out exactly what these new courses will entail.
Attendees will also be able to register their interest in the new courses or apply on-site for any of the programmes already running at the University of Derby Buxton.

Visitors can enjoy free tea and coffee while exploring the stunning surroundings of the Devonshire Dome – one of the most distinctive educational venues in the UK.
The Open Day will offer guided access to the University’s state-of-the-art facilities, including:

Harpur’s Bistro Reopens with a New Autumn Menu
In addition to the Open Day, Harpur’s Bistro – the University’s student-led fine dining restaurant – has re-opened for the new term with an enticing Autumn menu.
Originally launched in 2024, Harpur’s Bistro quickly became a popular destination, providing students with valuable hands-on experience in a real hospitality setting under the guidance of expert tutors. The latest menu features:

The Bistro’s name pays tribute to the University’s heritage as High Peak College in Harpur Hill, connecting Buxton’s rich educational history with its innovative future.
Harpur’s Bistro is also accredited by the Craft Guild of Chefs, the UK’s largest and oldest professional chef’s organisation. This prestigious recognition makes the University of Derby Buxton the only accredited Further Education training provider in Derbyshire, underlining its commitment to culinary excellence.
Harpur’s Bistro is open during term-time, Tuesday to Thursday.
