Christmas Market Derbyshire Peak District

On the first Weekend in December each year, Matlock hosts a Christmas Weekend in Hall Leys Park in the centre of Town.  You can expect to find over 170 stalls (local / European produce and craft), live entertainment and fun for all the family throughout the weekend.  This is combined with the “switch-on” of the Town’s Christmas lights (Saturday) and Fireworks (Sunday) that light up the skies of Matlock. Santa’s grotto.

The Town’s illuminations have become a major attraction in recent years with visitors travelling from far and wide to enjoy the spectacle. The event welcomes an estimated 20,000 visitors over the weekend.  People come from Matlock and surrounding villages and new visitors from far & wide as well as grandparents with fond memories of holidays in Matlock bringing their grandchildren.

Christmas Market Derbyshire Peak District

The Hollowford Centre in Castleton is opening it’s doors for it’s 7th annual Christmas Market.

The market is all indoor featuring a range of products and produce from local businesses, groups and home crafters including decorations, jewellery, cakes, chutneys, cheeses, natural skincare products, pictures/photographs, art work, cards and much more. With over 40 stalls to visit you’re sure to find the perfect Christmas presents. Food, refreshments and cake available throughout the day.

This year we are pleased to welcome Hathersage Choir who will be singing carols and the Mayfield Ceilidth Band will also be providing music during the day. Why not make a day of it and visit Castleton and the Christmas Lights.

Haddon Hall will be opening its doors again for a beautiful Winter Artisan Market, showcasing the wares of local artisans. Browse stalls from our favourite local florists, artists, gormet artisans and crafts people.

Enjoy the traditional Christmas atmosphere of the historic Old Hall Hotel in Buxton as Christmas Market Night returns by popular demand – this year also taking place in stunning The Pump Room (across the road from the Old Hall Hotel). The Pump Room is only open for special events so this is a perfect opportunity to both enjoy various stalls of food, drink, gifts and more while seeing a rare glimpse of this Grade II listed building – which will part of the Crescent Hotel when it opens in 2019. Expect to find quality local crafts, fine foods and drink as well hot pork baps and mulled wine to keep you warm and toasty.

A Quintessential English Christmas Market! There will be around 100 stalls and gazebos situated on Market Street, Granby Road and Riverside Crescent, many of which are from our beautiful Peak District.
Bakewell Christmas Market are proud to support British Legion Riders and they will display their magnificent motorbikes and charity stall on Bridge Street and in the main Market square. Also proudly supporting Bakewell Brownies and Rainbows, Age UK Bakewell Day Centre and Weston Park Charity Stalls.
Hot chestnuts, pulled pork, burgers, sausages, vegetarian, choccy churros,  mulled wine, liqueur coffees, mince pies, brownies, cakes, gin, wines, beers, Christmas wreaths just to name a few of our specialities from the Peak District and Derbyshire. Chesterfield Christmas lights switch on is back – and this year is promises to be bigger and better than ever. The fun gets underway from noon with a special market offering entertainment, stalls, games and rides in the market place.

Youngsters can see Chase from children’s show Paw Patrol outside Chesterfield Visitor Information Centre at noon, 1pm, 2pm and 3pm and meet Santa in his grotto in the Market Hall. The stage show gets underway at 3.30pm with Peak FM providing the fun as Ricky, Cat and your favourite presenters take to the stage offering opportunities for the audience to join in the fun.

Stars from Peter Pan, this year’s pantomime at the Pomegranate Theatre will perform on stage and will perform the switch on at 4.45pm with Chesterfield’s mayor and Chase from Paw Patrol.

Christmas Market Derbyshire Peak District

Om Saturday from 10am you can enjoy fun & frolics from Mr & Mrs Claus and the elves as well as live music. The Light switch on build up starts from 4pm on Saturday with Craig Baileys Peak FM introducing the line-up. Live performances include Can Samba, Marlo & Smith, a dance performance from the Claire Dobinson School of Dance, a fire show, illuminated spectacles and much more!

Sundays event runs from 10-5pm with live music from Scribble Victory, the Nottingham Ukulele Orchestra and another chance to see Claire Dobinson’s School of Dance performing ballet, tap and modern! Beauty & the Beast are also making an appearance at the village which is sure to make many hearts melt!
