A brand new video of the Buxton Crescent & Thermal Spa development has been released by the Buxton Crescent Trust as work continues to transform the Grade I listed building into a 5-star luxury 80-bedroom hotel, due to open in 2019.
The short 5 minute film gives a unique glimpse behind the scenes of the huge redevelopment of the Crescent with stunning footage inside the building and the beautiful Assembly Room.
Buxton Crescent Engagement & Events Manager Liz Mackenzie also talks about how the public can get involved in through their varied volunteer programme which includes supporting events at The Pump Room, help with fundraising, research and more.
The £50 million project to restore the famous Georgian Crescent to full use as a thermal spa and 5-star hotel and heritage centre is being funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund, alongside funding from High Peak Borough Council, Derbyshire County Council, Historic England, D2N2 Local Enterprise Partnership and developer Buxton Crescent Hotel and Thermal Spa Co Ltd.
The hotel will deliver:
*80 bedroom 5* spa hotel in the Crescent incorporating The Assembly Rooms
*A thermal natural mineral spa in the Natural Baths
*The Pump Room – an innovative and creative visitor attraction in the Pump Room and parts so the Crescent that will present the town’s spa heritage and allow public access to some of the buildings’ best interiors
*6 small boutique shops on the ground floor of the Crescent
