Bonfire Night in the Peak District and Derbyshire is a magical experience, and 2024 offers plenty of opportunities to enjoy the festivities. With stunning countryside backdrops, dazzling firework displays, and roaring bonfires at some magnificent locations. From family-friendly gatherings to larger community events, discover the top spots to mark this favourite annual event.

And remember, take care if you’re using fireworks at home, never return to a firework that hasn’t gone off and keep pets indoors if you can around this time, but most of all…enjoy 🙂

The Whitworth, Matlock – Halloween Fireworks Night with Fantazia Fireworks

When: 31st October 2024, gates open 5.30pm, event finishes at 8.30pm

Join in the fun for a spooktacular Halloween themed bonfire night! 🎃 Get ready for a night of frightful fun. Bring the whole family for an evening of entertainment and enjoying the crisp autumn air. Dress up in your scariest costumes and compete in our costume contest for a chance to win some wicked prizes.

Enjoy the food and drink, kids funfair rides and TWO firework displays.

At 7pm there will be the first of two displays. This will be a 10 minute, “low noise” display for children and people who are sensitive to loud fireworks. The second of the two displays will be at 7.45pm. This gives people who don’t like loud fireworks, sufficient time to leave the park. The firework finale will be Halloween themed and last approximately 15 minutes.

Chatsworth Bonfire and Fireworks

When: 1st & 2nd November 2024 *BOTH DATES ARE NOW SOLD OUT*

Head to the garden for a blazing bonfire, family entertainment and two spectacular fireworks displays, including an earlier display designed especially for our youngest visitors.You can also tuck into a selection of seasonal food, from hog roasts to churros and sweet treats. Round it off with a glass of mulled wine or cider – the ultimate winter warmers.

The Eyre Arms, Calver

When: 1st November 2024, gates 5.30pm, fire lit 6.30pm & fireworks 7pm.

Edale Bonfire and Fireworks Display

When: 2nd November 2024, gates 5.30pm, fire lit 6pm & fireworks 7pm.

Where: Edale Playing Field, gate leads through off the main car park, S33 7ZP.

Entry / Cost: Adults £5, child (2-15) £2, under 5’s free

The Edale bonfire has been a long standing fixture in the village calendar and is a very popular event with locals and visitors alike. The bonfire is usually well fuelled with local tree cuttings and timber waste and the professionally run display is a sight to behold with the spectacular backdrop of the Edale valley (not to mention the noise reverberating around the hills).

Full bar serving local beers, wines, cider, mulled wine, soft drinks available. BBQ serving Edale reared beef burgers and hot dogs. Soup and a roll. Extensive list of Edale baked biscuits and brownies. Hot drinks available.

Family Friendly Bonfire Night at Quackers Café, Thornbridge Hall 

When: 2nd November 2024, 6pm – 9pm

Where: Thornbridge Hall, Bakewell, England, DE45 1NZ

Entry / Cost: Adults (17yrs+) £10, Includes a jacket potato with Chilli)
Children (3-16yrs) – £5 Includes a jacket potato with cheese & beans
Under 3s – FREE
All tickets include a giant marshmallow for toasting and a sparkler

Get cosy by the fire-pit, grab a sparkler, and let the warmth of the season embrace you! It’s time to toast some marshmallows, sip on delicious hot chocolate or mulled wine, and enjoy a jacket potato feast — all while your furry friends are right there with you, no need to worry about loud fireworks!
What’s in store?
Roaring fire-pit to keep you warm as the autumn chill sets in Sparklers for a twinkling good time (we’ll provide one per person, but feel free to bring extra for double the sparkle!)
Marshmallows—giant, gooey, and perfect for toasting over the flames
Delicious hot chocolate or mulled wine to sip while you relax (and the bar will be open for something stronger if you’re in the mood!)

Fireworks Spectacular at Conkers

When: 2nd & 3rd November 2024, doors open 5pm, show starts at 7.30pm

Where: Conkers, Rawdon Road (B586), Moira, Nr Ashby-de-la-Zouch, Derbyshire DE12 6GA

Entry / Cost: Standard ticket prices – Adults £12, children £10 (0 – 16 years), Family ticket £45 (2 adults and 2 children), £3 under 2s – please book your tickets online.  Card payments are accepted indoors.

Looking for something fun to do with the whole family? Look no further than the Family Fireworks event in the Forest!

With two nights of dazzling fireworks displays, along with walkabout entertainers, this is an event you won’t want to miss. And if you’re worried about dinner, don’t be – the varied Food Market Menu has got you covered at multiple locations throughout the site.

So gather your loved ones and head on over to the best Fireworks Display with Walkabout Entertainers and Laser Show in The National Forest!

Buxton Fireworks Spectacular at Buxton Cricket Ground

When: Sunday 3rd November 2024, Gates open 4pm

Where: Buxton Cricket Ground, Park Road

J T Events are pleased to present Buxton Firework Spectacular on Sunday 3rd November 2024 at the Cricket Ground, Park Road, Buxton.
TWO firework displays, various hot food vendors, Fairground for all ages, bar, music and family entertainment!

They have the Biggest Firework display in the area! All entertainment is included in the ticket price.  A fantastic event for all the family to enjoy.
High Peak’s newest radio High Peak 1 will be hosting the event.

Glossop Bonfire Spooktacular Round Table Fireworks Display

When: 2nd November 2024, from 4pm

Where: Manor Park, Glossop

The Glossop Bonfire is back for 2024 but this year they will be celebrating Halloween and welcome you to dress up in a scary costume! Come along for a Halloween themed show from Centre Stage Academy of Dance, a Halloween fancy dress contest for Adults and Kids, 2 fireworks Displays, funfair rides, great food and raising money for local good causes.

Fireworks at The Kedleston Country House 

When: 4th & 5th November 2024, from 6.30pm – 11pm

Eyam Bonfire

When: 9th November 2024, from 6pm, Bonfire lit at 6.30pm, torchlit procession leaves the square at 6.15pm

Where: Eyam Village Square, Derbyshire

Entry / Cost: Adults £8 and Children £4, under 2s go free. Tickets on sale from Eyam Shops: The Post Office, The Miners’ Arms, Bloom, and also Calver Spar. Cash only please.

Come and celebrate the burning of the infamous Rat and help raise invaluable funds for Eyam School!

The evening starts with entertainment in the village square. The candlelit, music-led procession leaves the square carrying the Eyam Rat, hand crafted by the school children out of willow, depicting the Eyam story of the plague of 1665.

Walk through the village to the chants of ‘Burn The Rat’, where it is finally placed and lit on the huge bonfire and enjoy a fabulous firework display. A wide selection of food is served to include locally sourced farmhouse sausage hotdogs, jacket potatoes with homemade chilli or baked beans & cheese, Winter vegetable soup, roast chestnuts, parkin, bags of homemade bonfire toffee, locally brewed beer and cider, home brewed mulled wine, hot drinks and cold drinks.

All funds raised go to Eyam School PTFA and local community projects so please do come along to support us and join in the fun!‎

Matlock RFC Presents Bonfire and Fireworks Extravaganza

When: 9th November 2024, from 7pm – 10.30pm

Where: Cromford Meadows, Matlock, DE4 3RQ
