[box style=’success’]Purple Cloud of Funk[/box]

This professional party band are legendary in the North with the band always delivering an energetic performance of soul, funk and pop which often includes Stevie Wonder, T-Rex,  Jackson 5, Jamiroquai… Its a night to wear your flat shoes.

Queens Head | 15th August 2014, from 9.30pm

[box style=’success’]Matt Woosey[/box]

Matt’s powerful blues-ey, soulful but then at times delicate voice delivers a brilliant acoustic performance, rather reminiscent of Jim Morrison and the rawness and sometimes darkness of The Doors.  Matt supported the Brand New Heavies in Buxton back in February this year and brought the house down, so get here early to secure your spot.

Buxton Tap House | 15th August 2014, from 9pm

[box style=’success’]Will Hawthorne[/box]

Original singer/songwriter from Buxton playing tuneful pop, rock and blues numbers. Enjoy a cask ale or one of the numerous whiskeys this pub has to offer during the gig!

New Inn | 24th August 2014, from 9pm

[box style=’success’]Royal Rock Night[/box]

Queens Head | 21st August 2014, from 9.30pm

This open-mic ‘Royal Rock Night’ is now a firm favourite on the live music scene in Buxton.  Literally anything goes and it’s the unexpected that makes this night so much fun. We saw some familiar faces from the live music circuit but another band we’d never seen giving it the full on thrash metal treatment.  Loud, head-banging great fun in a super duper venue.

[box style=’success’]Strictly Vinyl with DJ Benji[/box]

This monthly night at the newly opened 53 Degrees North is a must for any soul and funk lovers, with DJ Benji providing a great vibe with some hard-not-to-dance-to vinyl records for this Bank Holiday gig special. DJ your own vinyl between 8 and 9pm under the watchful eye of resident DJ Benji.

53 Degrees North | 24th August 2014, from 8pm

[box style=’success’]Club Acoustic[/box]

Everyone is welcome to join in at this open-mic type session, whilst the night also regularly showcases local talent, with Nancy Brookes being a recent guest.  The upstairs bar  at The Old Club House also is a perfect spot for this mid-week gig and you never know what to to expect or what your going to hear.

The Old Club House | 20th August 2014, from 8.30pm
