Review: That’ll be The Day | Buxton Opera House 14th February

This rock n roll 30th anniversary sell out show was fabulously entertaining and back with a bang on Valentine’s Day at Buxton Opera House.

Three hours of 50s, 60s and 70s rock music and comedy was exceptional value. The talented cast led by the terrific Trevor Payne worked very hard and did not disappoint their audience with many glamorous and colourful costume changes cleverly worked into impressions of Elvis, Whitney Huston, Roy Orbison; Mick Jagger’s ‘Brown Sugar’ was hilarious and the audience loved it! There was exceptional guitar playing and thoroughly professional music co-ordination.

Back projection with archive film set the scene tying in many tributes to Buddy Holly, Cilla and David Bowie.

Comedy routines were funny with slick delivery and real wit – rude but never offensive.

Altogether a great night out in Buxton Opera House! Look out for their brand new show returning to Buxton in October – not to be missed. Find out everything that’s happening at Buxton Opera House by visiting their website.
