It may be called The Last Jedi, but it’s the first of many cinema screenings coming to Buxton.
As promised, Buxton Cinema at the Pavilion Arts will be opening with a bang. The next chapter in the Star Wars universe will be here to usher in a new era of cinema-going in Buxton.
Star Wars: The Last Jedi will officially launch the cinema on Thursday 14the December at a special 12.01am screening. The next instalment in the cult series has been eagerly awaited since audiences last saw Rey (Daisy Ridley) start to uncover her powers in The Force Awakens. The trailer has intrigued audiences with questions about Rey’s background and tempting fans with secrets of the past.
It is hoped that the Buxton Cinema can start to fill the cinematic void which has previously left Buxtonians forced to travel for up to an hour to get their cinema fix. The Cinema promises to be something quite different than your standard multiplex. A developing project, which will continue to grow over time, just like the Star Wars films themselves!
Of course the cinematic magic doesn’t end there with more great films heading to Buxton. Big names such as Paddington 2, Murder on the Orient Express, and The Greatest Showman. Also as we move towards award season, hopefuls such as The Killing of a Sacred Deer, The Florida Project, Darkest Hour and Battle of the Sexes will be here to help keep you at the forefront of the Oscars race.
Star Wars: The Last Jedi will be shown at Buxton Cinema 14th – 28th December 2017. Tickets are priced at £7 (Students/Children £5). To buy tickets contact Buxton Opera House Box Office, Tel: 01298 72190 or book them online: www.buxtonoperahouse.org.uk
